Another one for the email/twitter lists...
Dear Lord, PLEASE help people to WAKE UP. Encourage them to LISTEN to more than what these candidates are saying NOW. Lord, we have the internet. Please... let them use it to learn something!
May God guide our course.

Starting at 3:20, I've paraphrased, since I'm doing this mobile on a bus. mostly quoted (removed the "uhs" and "you knows").
Republicans, to our credit, have sort of morphed away from the Goldwater idea, you know, that the government needs to be smaller, needs to do less, it needs to be doing nothing except what it's core functions are, to a party that says we need to restructure the way we do programs to create the kind of incentives, help and programs that gives that authority to solve these problems to folks closer to these people, the family or individual themselves.
I don't think Mittens is even that bad.
Barry Goldwater was, on social issues, a libertarian and a Constitutionalist. He was not a social conservative. He did not think the federal government should impose its will on the states or the people thereof, which was taken as code for endorsing segregation, which it wasn’t. (Goldwater was himself instrumental in ending discrimination in Arizona, through his business and, when he served in the state government, in education.)
This shouldn’t shock anyone that has been paying attention to Santorum.
Man, he can say that again.
Saint Rick is nauseating.
Just watched Sen Santorum’s interview by Charlie Rose on CBS Morning Show. Open collar checkered shirt under a suit-coat, extremely haltingly answered questions, stuttered almost as much as Stuttering Mitt, anybody that WAS paying attention would not have had a good impression of our likely VP nominee.
True enough, probably. Republican is the new Democrat, while Democrat is the new Communist.
Senator, Rick, the GOP was never the party of Goldwater, smaller government etc, unless they are dragged into it kicking and screaming. Look at what Boehner has done after the Tea Party made him Speaker. He’s either fabulously incompetent or on the other side (or of course both). Explain his “deals” starting in the lame duck session through today.
Clearly displaying the justification of corrupt use of power by someone who has been in DC too long.
You cannot legislate morals but you can legislate morally. Santorum’s time to do the right thing has passed. Stand down, Rick. You’re embarrasing yourself and conservatives.
The position wasn’t what surprised me. It was how candid and flippant he was about his opinion on those who believe in freedom.
Rose colored glasses, ear plugs, and Kool aid, please.
Bump for later.
programs that gives that authority to solve these problems to folks closer to these people, the family or individual themselves....
I thought that the individual had the authority already and that it was they who could “give authority” to the institutions. But, what do I know?
Now we're going to nominate either a liberal from MA or a big government statist from PA. Either way (or with Obama) we're done.
The difference between the packaging and the contents with Santorum today is at least as great as it was with the Kenyan in 2008. Clearly, Santorum is no conservative.
Which if either win the Nominations will lead to four more years of Obama.
The only one that had the knowledge and intestinal fortitude was Newt. But Alas he was not Pretty enough or Saintly enough.
Thank God for President Santorum. Funny how FREEPERS are looking through You Tube videos. Just so scared for a President Santorum. God forbid that FREEPERS want a President with morals to run the country. I am glad that most of America does not agree with some of you FREEPERS. Also most people won’t see this video. If you want to go back to 2008 than I think that everything for Newt is open for discussion, but if you mention some of Newt’s negative actions, you immediately are given some dumb excuse.
987 people have viewed this video. Good luck on your destruction of a great man who will be your President in January 2013. lol. 987......your a joke.
I have no desire to have a moral socialist run our country thank you very much.
Folks on this site don’t want to hear it but there is one conservative running as a republician and that is Ron Paul.
I’ve been trying to tell folks who would listen, anyone who thinks Santorum is a small government conservative doesn’t have a clue about the guy.
Santorum is a SOCIAL CONSERVATIVE, he is not a fiscal or small government conservative. He falls more into the “compassionate conservative” mold of Bush than a limited government conservative.
He firmly believes the government should be active in all sorts of things that are not in the constitution, and has said so on many many occassion. He believes the government should be an arbitor of social change, etc etc etc.
Anyone thinking this guy, if he is elected is going to scale back the scope and size of government, doesn’t know Santorum at all.
Come here, let me show you the $500 BILLION tunnel that goes a whopping 1.2 miles that he made sure got funded...
If your goal is a small/limited government, Santorum is not going to be your champion folks.. you have to be completely ignorant of his record if you think he will be.
If Ron Paul came out 6 months ago and said “I will not allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon under any circumstances” he could actually be president. As it stands, there is no way possible for him to be elected. The only thing that trumps this crappy economy is national security. I am a very libertarian leaning conservative, but anyone who thinks Islamic terrorists have any place in this world outside the scope of a US sniper is crazy.
Santorum has NO CHANCE of being elected if he would be the GOP nominee. 0bama will make mincemeat out of him in no time at all.

Just running this by again because it needs to be seen.
Well for them Governmental Control takes second place to their desires for social issues.....and we'll go down in smoke if Santorum thinks he's going to get congress on board with his social issues.....not going to happen. So it'll be a lose lose if Santorum gets in on both social and fiscal issues....and he'll grow the government and use that control as they never thought possible.
I'm glad this will go to convention....if Newt fails there at least we can say we fought a good fight to the last finish line.....but I've not given up hope Newt has a few things up his sleeve not played and we likely will see that at convention.
....and BTW Newt stepping back is not so much he's failed as he's manuvering this primary.
“Santorum - Republicans no longer the party of Goldwater and small government”
That’s true and Santorum did his part to make it that way.
Ive been trying to tell folks who would listen, anyone who thinks Santorum is a small government conservative doesnt have a clue about the guy.
Too many people juat listen to what politicians say without looking back at their actual history to see if they walked the talk.
Can anyone name the President or Congress that shrunk either the number of Federal employees, the amount spent in a year or the number or Federal regulations? Santorum is right. The GOP is for big and even bigger government. That’s why they hate the tea party and the conservatives.
