I am new to Free Republic. I look forward to being a small part of this community.
I see by many of the postings that most of the posters on this website are ANTI-Romney. That is good because I am too. I am a conservative from Tallahassee, Florida.
I am torn between Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum. Reading some of the postings I see there are passionate folks on the Newt side as well as on the Rick side.
I am leaning toward Rick Santorum because I think he can best beat Romney in the Primary and frankly I think ANYONE can beat Obama in the general. So my gut tells me to support the most conservative in the race.
I am also a Christian Homeschooling dad so you might see why I favor Rick Santorum but I can support Newt in the general election should he win the nomination. I don't think I can stomach voting for Romney though.
Any advise for a newbie?

And lets bring up civility, shall we? "Back then" members weren't excoriated and mocked for their GOP candidates of choice nor were they banned, civil discourse was the requirement........
As far as my comment about leftwing sites picking up outrageous comments from members here, you can only find them if the member has a weird screen name that is not common to google.
And for what it's worth, using the same process, I outed a newbie who had a penchant for trolling on a site dedicated to incest After bringing it to his attention, he hasn't returned..........
Like it or not, this site is not the same one it was 12 years ago......

The guy that started the thread mentioned both candidates, and who he leaned towards, so it was not unrelated, but thanks for making my point.
Damn, do I get annoyed when I have to go buy suits for work. It is never as simple as just walking into the place and saying "I'd like to have a couple of suits please."
Suddenly I find myself surrounded by folks of questionable sexual orientation taking measurements of my chest, my neck and who knows what else. Then I'm trying on suit jacket after suit jacket while they say things that make no sense to me like "that extra jacket button makes you look taller and thinner" and "those earth-tones on that jacket really bring out your complexion."
Then I'm herded into the dressing room with trousers to try on and each time I come out, some short, fat tailor with a foreign accent comes out and makes chalk marks all over the pants and jackets. I haven't even agree to buy them yet and already they are custom-fitting them to me.
Now I come out and on some long table, a young women is laying out a dozen or so shirts and ties to go with the suits I "just bought." Shoes, socks, belts and cuff links are brought into the mix and by the time I walk out of there, my American Express card just got whacked for over $3,000.
Damn, I wish I only had to wear khakis and golf shirts to work.

I saw Ash the other day. He was in the Fox News comment section of some story. His name was a giveaway, and of course I’m always Lazamataz, so he recognized me. We had a great little discussion! He’s okay, obviously he’s staying away from FR. I think he saw what happened to Eschoir.
Anyways, he’s a liberal, so he’s the enemy, but at least he was relatively pleasant.
