Biden's comments, made at a Democratic fundraiser in Morris Township, NJ, ranked the May 2011 assault that ended the Al-Qaeda chief's life above the D-Day invasion of Normandy in 1944, the surprise landing at Inchon in 1950 that turned the tide of the Korean War or, going back a bit further, George Washington's daring night-time crossing of the Delaware River before the Battle of Trenton in 1776.

What Biden neglects to say is that Obama was on record as being against virtually every critical aspect that led up to and allowed the raid to occur. In other words, had Obama had his way while Bush was President, the raid could have never happened.
But he wasn’t and Bush put it all in place and our brave service personnel, regular forces, special forces, CIA, counter-terrorism, did their job and Obama walked into something he simply had to say yes to.
To not say yes at that stage would have been political suicide.
So, yes, it was a bold plan, and it worked...but it worked precisely because a President who had AQmerican interests uppermost in his mind, George W. Bush, set it up to happen, and the follow on President who is more of a marxist than a patriotic American, had it dropped in his lap.

Really, how different was the OBL raid from any similar raid conducted in Iraq or Afghanistan? Apart from the OBL raid being conducted in secret on an erstwhile-ally’s soil, there really was no difference from any other no-knock Special Forces raid.

While it was a tactical success, it was a strategic failure - since the Japanese were not able to knock out the Pacific carrier force [which was out on maneuvers at the time].

I can see what ol' Joe is trying to say, though. "Audacious plan" is demspeak for "big lie", and with what little evidence we have that this bin laden raid happened as reported, well...
Besides, if Bin Laden had been alive after the coronation of the Won, he would have been as welcome in the White Hut as Ayers or any of those hoodlum rap sh*th**ds. OBL would have had unlimited access to his own media room to watch Miss Camel pageants and Sesame Street porn.
