Michelle Obama fired up the stars in Tribeca Monday night for her hubby’s reelection bid.
An A-list crowd — Beyoncé and her mother Tina Knowles, “The View” host Whoopi Goldberg, Star Jones, actors Ben Stiller, Angela Bassett and Alfre Woodard, and movie mogul Harvey Weinstein and his fashion designer wife — turned out for the Obama cash bash. The fund-raiser was hosted by Robert De Niro and his wife, Grace Hightower, at Locanda Verde, the restaurant in his Greenwich Hotel in Tribeca.
It seemed like the only big name missing was Jay-Z, who was performing at the Darby on W. 14th Street.
Speaking to the starry crowd of about 85 people, De Niro opened the night by deadpanning: “Callista Gingrich. Karen Santorum. Ann Romney. Now do you really think our country is ready for a white first lady?”
The crowd roared and one person yelled, “No!”

The A-listers...
By always shilling for the anti-capitalists, they inadvertently create more poverty and misery for minorities they claim to want to help. Worse, they get a warm, fuzzy feeling while doing so.
Meanwhile, employers and investors, who actually help the poor, are the declared enemies of state.
Oh, they’re “A” list people all right. Though in my book the “A” word I would apply to that list (and them) they might not like. ;-)
