"This story has clearly been dug up due to recent events....meh."

Hogwash:

"In 2011 the Deetman Commission, acting on the 2010 request of the Conference of Bishops, and the Dutch Religious Conference, reported on its inquiry into abuse cases from 1945 to 2010 affecting children entrusted to the care of the church in the Netherlands.[42]"

European countries have been investigating these scandals for several years, and this investigation was requested by the Church itself, so no dice trying to blame some conspiracy this time.

Huh? I don’t think you’ve paid close attention to this story.

The story which has been bouncing around the media like crazy is an attack on Deetman (not part of his report).

I find it interesting that his report last December recieved very little attention in the American media, relative to this one case.

I think I know why - the timing works well with the current political battles concernong the catholic church.

You don’t have to agree with me...but please don’t mis-report that this case is a result of Deetman...that is just patently untrue.
