In which BuzzFeed tosses an extra shovelful of dirt on a man whos already being buried. Seriously, though: Does the Specter endorsement really matter to undecideds? It should matter, as its shiver-inducing proof that when RS says hes willing to take one for the team, the team he has in mind is the GOP, not conservatives. (Just ask Pat Toomey.)
Against an opponent with more ideological cred, it probably would matter. But against Mitt? How does a grassroots righty conclude that the guy who endorsed his RINO colleague from Pennsylvania is less trustworthy than the guy whos run as a liberal, moderate, conservative, and now technocratic Republican over the past 18 years?
Even Newt, in his post at Red State today slamming Santorum for conservative heresies, doesnt bring up his chumminess with Specter. If you like Santorum, you like him for his hawkishness and/or his social conservatism and/or the fact that hes Not Romney, and you accept his track record on spending as something that Americas new fiscal reality would force him to abandon once in office.
The Specter thing is more talismanic than substantive for most conservatives, I think visual proof of just how comfy with the centrist establishment the ostensible anti-establishment challenger to Romney is. Irritating, but not disqualifying given the alternative.

I don’t care how hard Santorum is working for the nomination, this form of establishment commitment is in his blood.

The emotional attachment to Santorum is not productive of getting our government under control. You cannot even make one critical observation on his voting record; his supporters lash out. Between those voters, the not Romney vote and the operation democrat chaos; that is his base. And, we know that the dems which are causing havoc; they will be back in Obama’s camp come fall. Romney knows the base will never accept his Romneycare and that is why Newt stays in-he realizes Rick is right out of the Bush spending to where it gave us Obama. Newt is right. Rick was a part of it. I have been praying for a miracle for our country (not for what I want-for who we need in these times) Praying for those to see this as well.

Such a tell-all about Mitt Romney from this story that you posted. I think Rick would support Romney. Fox blasted Newt - said he would be difficult to endorse Mitt. Mitt sure is worried and he should be. If enough people would come to their senses or become angry, to see they have the power in their hands, to reject Romney, as not the inevitable; we could win with a stronger candidate. Rick is not our answer since he was apart of the spending spree.

Rickie boy says,”Get Newt out of my way and put me in coach, I’m so good that I barely lost my re-election bid for my old senate seat by the largest majority of a sitting senator”. “Wait, wait, you did put me in one on one and did you see how much damage I did to his knuckles as he kicked my but”.

[...if not for Rick Santorum, I wouldnt have been reelected...]
Since this appears to a be negative remark against Saint Rick, what Spincter is really saying is...’if it wasn’t for Santorum, you wouldn’t have gotten a POS like me”?

What it really demonstrates is ‘look @ all the POS’s the we Republican Party DAzz have dumped on the voters.
Obviously the GOP’s only defense is ‘we suck less’ than the other Bastards! Winning!

A good read and more reasons to NOT vote for Rick Santorum.
Heck Perry, Cain, Michele Bachmann, were as good as him .. possibly better than Mitt. Newt is certainly as good as all the current crop.
Palin pulled out early and some other possibly excellent Obama contenders never got in... Rubio, and Allen West being very good looking contenders.
Palin/West would have been a game changer against obama.....

Agreed. In 2008 the pendulum swung the farthest to the left in our Republic’s history. In 2010 it was stopped at the bottom by small (r) republicans and they intend to keep it right there out of fear.
