Back in the 1970's, a novel was written by "Thomas Luke," a nom de plume (by the way) for Graham Masterton. The title of the book was/is "The Hell Candidate."
The premise of the story is that a candidate for President of the United States makes a pact with Satan to secure the presidency. The reader follows "the hell candidate" through the campaign, which, of course, he wins.
OK. Before you ask -- yes, I did read the novel, back when it was published in the seventies. No pun intended -- that cussed book made a heck of an impression. It was right up my alley -- politics and religion, er, possibly NON-religion? Whatever.

So why am i making reference to Mr. Masterton's book? Because America is in the midst of a presidential campaign and I am beginning to feel as if there is another Hunter Peal in the running. (Hunter Peal was the hell candidate in the book of the same name.)
Look. I've been around for a rather long time and this presidential campaign isn’t my first rodeo. Even before I could vote I was helping at my local Board of Elections on election nights. I was HOOKED! I still am -- sorry to say.
Where am I going with this? Here -- Obamacare is a piece of legislation drafted in Hell and, if NOT signed by Satan himself, then it certainly has his seal of approval stamped (in glowing red letters) diagonally across the signature page.
Under Obamacare I am going to have to pay for abortions that my faith tells me are flat-out wrong. I stand with the Catholic Church in their opposition to Obamacare's forcing them to violate their religious faith and commit a sin.
Now we learn, that under Obamacare, voluntary sterilization of young women (and young men) will be offered free for women -- girls-- as young as fifteen years of age!
Just so I am clear on this -- in my opinion -- this is pure evil.
It violates the Free Exercise of Religion clause in the 1st Amendment to the Constitution. It will force millions of the Judeo-Christian faith to violate their religion -- to commit sin. To force millions of people to endanger their very souls is nothing short of demonic. Obamacare absolutely has Satan's endorsement.
The man behind this mass abomination is Barack Hussein Obama, President of the United States -- and -- current candidate for a second four-year term.
The scriptures tell us plainly a man cannot serve two masters. So, it seems to me, that folks of the Judeo-Christian faith have to make a decision, no matter their political party preference, this November. The choice is plain. We people of faith must decide whether we stand with our God, or with Obama. As a Christian myself, the choice is very clear and very stark. It is a choice between good and evil.
The progressives, the socialists, the secularists in the Obama Administration and in the Democratic Party are fueling this drive toward population control (For that's what it really is.) in the US.
How long, we must ask, before the voluntary sterilization becomes mandatory? It is a fair question considering how the left uses incrementalism to advance their agenda.
The "environuts" seem to feel there are simply too many people on the planet and to save the earth it is absolutely essential to get rid of as many human beings as possible. Better yet, stop them from ever being born
Yes, there really is a war on Christianity in America and it is leading toward religious persecution for Christians and Jews in America. The Obama Administration is the prime mover, Satan's generals, if you please.
It is past time for America to wake up and see the Obama Administration for what it really is -- evil.
It is clear that America is already on the road to a godless society -- and -- a totalitarian society. The Obama Administration is shredding our constitutional rights. Obama has, himself, made clear that he chafes under the constraints of the Constitution and especially the Bill of Rights.
Do not count on the Supreme Court overturning Obamacare. If I were a betting man, I'd bet that they will not do so. The ONLY way this nation will be rid of that abomination from hell is to repeal it outright.
I, along with a few million of my fellow Christians, am going to the polls in November to vote against evil. As we have been warned for a very long time, all that is necessary for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing.
There is the story told of the mother of a boxer at ringside watching her boxer son being beaten to a pulp in the ring. She notices that beside her is a priest. So, in desperation she turns and says, "Oh, father, won't you please pray for my son. You see the beating he is taking." The priest replies, "Sure, I'll pray for him -- but it would really help if your son would fight."
There's a lesson for folks of the Judeo-Christian faith in this story. Praying is good, but it would be a great help if we got up off out backsides and put up a real fight.

If he honestly thinks that is where this will be fixed, he’s not as smart as much of the rest of the article would imply.

I’ll vote in the presidential race, as long as Romney is not the nominee. Otherwise, there really is no choice. The two men are the two sides of the same coin.
That statement doesn’t necessarily mean that he thinks this will be solved at the ballot box.
He’s just stating that we have a duty to vote, and to vote according to our values.
Now is the time to oppose Romney.
November is the time to oppose Obama.

I agree, but if Romney is the nominee, well, I can’t in good conscience vote for either, even if it means Obama will win a second term. That is how bad I think Romney is.
I think a better hope would be to stuff the congress with Republicans and leave Obama as president if Romney was the nominee.

"Evil" is the exact right word. We need to say it aloud. We need to stand up for good and vanquish evil. Anybody who'd tell you that's simplistic thinking is just covering for evil.

I said this last election. It seemed that Obama must have the backing of the Devil because it was too insane at what was ignored and how he was fawned over.
Honestly, it was the most jaw dropping election I could have ever imagined. Not to mention the way his and Michelle’s ‘smile’ makes my stomach hurt.
Toxoplasma gondii is a protozoa, whose life cycle requires both mice and cats. When eaten by a mouse, it travels to the pleasure center of the mouses brain, where the protozoa secretes a chemical that alters a neurochemical in the mouses brain, dopamine, a neurotransmitter involved in mood, sociability, attention, motivation and sleep patterns.
As such, this microorganism creates a radical change in the behavior of the mouse. In particular, it “retrains” the mouse to be attracted to things that can destroy it. In particular, it becomes attracted to the smell of cat urine.
So the mouse is attracted to the territory of a cat that will eat it. The protozoa needs the cat to eat the mouse so that it can reproduce in the intestines of the cat, and be deposited in its feces, to eventually be eaten by other mice.
This is important to us for two reasons. The first is that the brain of a mouse is much like the brain of a human, only smaller. The second is that an estimated 11 million Americans are also infected with this protozoa.
It is not well understood what psychologically happens to a person who is infected with Toxoplasma gondii.
It is unlikely that they would be attracted to the smell of cat urine, because there is nothing fearsome about that smell to humans. But what if it *does* modify what should be a person’s rational fears, so instead of being sensibly afraid, he is attracted to things that would destroy him?
In particular, Democrats. People who seem afflicted with a lack of pattern recognition, who again and again do irrational and self destructive things, but even more want to compel everyone else to do them as well.
In other words, they do not want to just destroy themselves, but destroy everyone else as well. Clearly a mass mental condition. But could it be caused by keeping cats or undercooked food (the second most common way to get toxoplasmosis)?

You very well may be right. What you are not getting is that I consider Romney MORE dangerous than Obama. He’s dangerous for completely different reasons. For starters, he may be a “bringing both sides together” force in the way Obama would like to, but he simply can’t. And I mean coming together in a way in which I will not participate.
But I only scratch the surface. It is hard for many to accept that as bad as Obama is, there could be something worse. Remember, most of us felt that nothing could be worse than Clinton. We were wrong. People really have no idea just how bad it could get.
I’ve said it before. I don’t know if Obama is the anti-Christ or not. I tend to think the time is not yet ripe.
But he certainly doing his best to channel him, and that is beyond dispute.

The problem is that, as I said in a post just before this one, there really COULD be something worse than Obama. Imagine a competent Obama, with a big R on his chest instead of a D, and a complacent congress similar to the one we have now.
We would beg for the “good old days” of Obama, as we do now regarding Clinton.
IMHO the time may be approaching for FR to adopt a (slightly) less anti-Romney position.
It appears the the amazingly effective, and reasonable opposition to Romney on this site, is driving some FReepers to have over-compensated.

Liberals have an aversion to following up on the policies and people they support,

Yep sure is. The author though does not get to the point which I think shows him at his most evil. He has, without any Congressional approval, set about to create a power vacuum in the Middle East which can only be filled my Muslim zealots. This leaves Israel in a very precarious position. Ne should take note that the only places he has failed to help in their cause for freedom are states that are committed to the annihilation of Israel.

Here is how I think he may be worse: He wears the R rather than the D,is very liberal, and is competent. That last one is like a multiplier. He could accomplish things just as bad as Obama has attempted, but ONLY attempted.
And just as Obama ran on unspecified “hope and change”, Romney has a track record of saying whatever it takes to get elected and then doing whatever is politically expedient. You can’t trust a word that comes out of his mouth - Just like Obama.
Obama has tried to rule from the left, alienating the right and even some of the middle. The effect has almost been an overcompensation in some ways. Romney would pull us to the left from the middle. The effect would be for the nation to go farther left than Obama could ever have aspired to accomplish.
And it would be a republican doing it.
I think we really are extremely close to the revelation of The Beast. It could be Obama. It could be Romney. It could be someone else, but the stage is, finally, pretty clearly set. And whoever it is will be in partnership with a false prophet and false religion. Obama with Islam, and Romney with Mormonism.
But Romney is the one that concerns me the most regarding that aspect of this whole thing.

I think it is due to hubris driven by arrogant incompetence. If I’m wrong, it almost certainly means he is every bit as evil as Hitler and Stalin, and might even be the Beast in Revelation. Though that last one is a stretch. So far...
It is easy for folks to focus on O but, of course, that is only the surface of the problem. In fact, his world-class machine has installed its operatives throughout each of the three branches of our government, and at the moment they control in some large measure our armed forces.
Should we choose him or Romney? If we are left with that choice and to the extent we wish to influence the near term for the benefit of our family, we might ask whether Romney's bible advocates the killing of non-believers and whether he would undertake to clean house.
