It's not easy to make Al Sharpton appear relatively restrained in a racially-charged case such as the one involving the death of Trayvon Martin. But Joe Scarborough has managed to pull off the dubious feat. On today's Morning Joe, Scarborough flatly branded the reported shooter, George Zimmerman, a "murderer." It was no slip of the tongue. A couple minutes later, Scarborough declared that Zimmerman had "murdered" Martin.
Sharpton himself never used such language, generally describing Zimmerman as the "shooter," and even imagining, without endorsing, a scenario in which Zimmerman might have been acting in self defense.

Meaning, exactly, that it wasn’t necessary, but also wasn’t explicitly prohibited.

And we do not know who initiated the scuffle that resulted in both men wrestling on the ground. Is it possible that Martin grabbed for or took the gun away from Zimmerman, which caused him to believe his life was in danger and that he had to use lethal force? This took place inside a gated community.
Yeah, but many freepers keep repeating it on this thread and others. I am surprised that so many freepers are so quick to hang him.

Rules For Surviving A Gunfight:
(1) Bring a gun.
(2) Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice.

No we do not know. It could be that Zimmerman tried to grab the kid and the kid responded with knocking Zimmerman down and beating him. Or it could have been that the kid just attacked Zimmerman. Not enough evidence to convict so far.
The thing is Zimmerman NEVER verbally engages Trayvon in a friendly matter while he was on the phone with 911. He had plenty of opportunity to do so. He was trailing Trayvon for quite awhile. He could of rolled down his window and asked a few simple questions nicely. He sees Trayvon look at him (probably because Trayvon noticed this creepy guy trailing him for a long time) Zimmerman doesn’t speak up to difuse the situtaion......leading to confusing. He continues looking sneaky and trailing Trayvon into a more isolated sidewalk area between the houses.
Zimmerman never simply asks from the safety of his vehicle, “hey do you live around here?” Zimmerman never identifies himself as a neighborhood watchman. He has no visible identification. (not that anyone should automaticially trust someone in a phony uniform) What Zimmerman failed to see is that his actions could be perceived as very suspicious, stalkerish, shady and threatening! its completely lost on him. He has no training and needed serious lessons in common sense 101.
The 911 operator tried to do him a favor because they know it could get messy. The is exactly why they told him to sit his ass down.
Zimmerman DID NOT say he was afraid for his life.....he said he was afraid he would “get away” Zimmerman admits on the tape “Oh crap he’s running” That means Zimmerman must have chased after trayvon to catch up with him. He says on tape he thought the man might be on drugs, and a gun. Nobody forced Zimmerman to follow (who he perceived to be) possibly a dangerous person.
Are people supposed to have mental telepathy powers to know Zimmerman is just looking out for the neighborhood? Zimmerman failed to see how his own actions could easily seen as threatening. He just assumed everybody should automatically know he’s the king. He followed Martin for a long time and continued into an isolated area.
What if Trayvon happened to be a 17 year old black female? She sees Zimmerman (a creepy looking man IMO) slowing trailing her as she walks home from 7-11. She starts getting worried. Zimmerman never asks her from a safe distance that he is a neighborhood watchman. Even if he did, why should she believe him? He’s a stranger. It could be a ruse. It’s dark out. Not too many people out and about. Zimmerman is not walking his dog or taking a walk with wife or kids. She starts walking faster. zimmerman doesn’t have a glow in the dard t-shirt that says Neightborhood watch. Then she notices he’s on foot and he’s still following her. She picks up the pace because she doesn’t want him anywhere near her. She hears his footsteps picking up. She makes a turn in between the homes still walking the sidewalk, to see if he makes the same turn. He does. She starts to run because she is almost home. She hears him start running. She turns around quickly and sprays him with mace because she only has seconds to act before he grabs her and tries to rape her. In Zimmerman’s mind he would probably FALSELY conclude he was the innocent victim in this scenario and that gave him the right to shoot her in self defense! Zimmerman caused the scuffle by stalking Trayvon and surprising him. zimmerman used excessive force as well in a scuffle he started.
Some in the old media are sure hyping the white angle, and I just wonder why.
It seems foolish to spend so much on investing crimes or potential crimes, gathering and ascertaining facts, and prosecuting the accused at a jury trial when we could just have the nutcases at MSNBC determine guilt based on their feelings, skin color of victims and accused, and other politically correct judgements.

The mainstream media is grossly misreporting this story to fit the politically-correct narrative. The eyewitness interviewed in the video linked below, from the original local news report, exonerates Zimmerman as acting in self-defense:
Various sources have Martin as 6’3”, not the diminutive boy of the pictures that are being circulated of him. At 6’3”, I find it almost impossible that he would weigh 140 lbs as some are saying. At 17, I was 6’ 2” and a very lean and lanky 151 lbs when I entered basic military training.
Zimmerman is reported to have had a bloody nose, a bloody injury to the back of his head, and grass stains on his back consistent with struggling on his back while pinned from above.
As we learned from the “hockey dad” case from some years ago which some readers will recall, it matters not who intially was the aggressor—once either individual gains the advantage and acts as to threaten death or serious bodily harm on another, THEY become the actual aggressor, and deadly force to defend ones’ self against them is justified.

The 911 tapes I’ve heard also have Zimmerman saying repeatedly that Martin was coming toward him, advancing on him.
Frankly, the lens through which our society views events like this is badly distorted. When the “Jena 6” nearly beat the young white boy to death in Louisiana a couple of years ago and were charged, the blacks went crazy and staged massive national protests, besieged the town of Jena, and then brought the Jena 6 onstage at the BET Awards to be given a standing ovation and heralded as heroes.
I’ve worked in the ghetto long enough to have had my life threatened by aggressive, hateful, racist blacks, especially young ones, with various weapons and with various items that they wanted me to think were weapons so as to intimidate me. On one occasion, a black kid stuck what at first appeared to be the muzzle of a pistol up to my car window, inches from my head—it turned out to be a metal cigarette lighter. I cannot relate here how often similar situations took place when working the door of nightclubs in the ghetto, when trying to keep order standing my post at an all-night convenience store/gas station in the ghetto...I even had a co-worker who had no other option but to shoot and kill an unarmed young black man who attacked him and went for my coworker’s gun when my co-worker, as a uniformed officer, had to force a group of rowdy blacks to leave an all-night restaurant upon the request of the manager at 3 a.m.; my co-worker and the man he shot wound up on the ground, rolling around and struggling to see who would wind up with the gun. My co-worker is only alive because he managed to get the muzzle under the guy’s chin and get a shot off.
It sounds like Zimmerman was merely trying to do what we need more citizens to do, because the media and “authorities” refuse to address and remedy to out-of-control rate of black crime that prevails in certain areas. The media ignores and even covers up ENDLESS savage, wanton, racially motivated black-on-white crime, deliberately, every day. I am interested in having the truth told.
