All hands will join around a Romney/Rubio ticket, which will achieve victory in November.

My only hope is that the delegates to the conventions will leave their funny hats, ties, and costumes at home. We need to show on television that this is serious business. The future of our country is at stake. If the independents and Reagan Democrats see a serious convention they will be swayed in our direction.

That is actually a great point. I agree entirely.

I fear, however, that Romney is not going to be able to withstand the temptation to avoid the party-like atmosphere..this is his day in the sun, of course. Why shouldn’t he get to have some fun too? That said, while I like your plan better, I don’t think a business as usual convention will bring about obama’s re-election. The campaign which follows the convention will do that, or not......

A giant pack of moderate lemmings kissing Mitt’s RINO ass as the entire 2012 campaign leaps off of a cliff.

That’s hilarious. You have a future in stand-up comedy.

Pub, I agree on your first two instances. I think that’s exactly what’ll happen. I do NOT, however, see anyone nominating Jeb Bush. I think pretty much everyone agrees that we aren’t going to want ANOTHER Bush in the Oval Office.

What do I want to see? Something just as highly improbable...

Between 2nd and 3rd Ballot: A former Governor of Alaska gets up and makes a rousing, patriotic, and stirring speech to the Convention. Someone from “the great state of Alaska” nominates Sarah Louise Palin as the candidate.

3rd Ballot: Sarah Palin becomes the nominee. Selects Allen West as running mate.

Sit back and watch as heads explode, ER’s nationwide filled with coronary victims (mostly Dem), and the White House goes into ‘panic mode’ like you’ve never seen before.

If a thousand dignified delegates show up - and 3 look like fools, the MSM will focus on the fools. Or if the MSM thinks ‘dignified’ makes us look too uptight - they’ll focus on that... We can’t win with the MSM and should not try.

They hate us.

If you watch this - NYT’s guys talking when they think there’s no conservatives in the room - you’ll see - they laugh at us:

As it becomes apparent that this is going to be a brokered convention, the delegates will be looking for a speaker who can stampede them after the first ballot. Palin could do it. So could Christie. So could Giuliani, the last of the bare knuckle brawlers left in the party. Bush's money could do it. It becomes a situation where anything could happen.

Your Palin scenario would be awsome. Now that would create passion and energy in this election...
