THE news that the Justice Department will investigate the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin is a welcome development in a horrible story. Last month Martin, a high-school student from Florida, was walking to his father's girlfriend's house and talking on the phone to his own girlfriend when he was spotted by George Zimmerman, a 28-year-old man who had appointed himself as a neighbourhood monitor, and who had made dozens of 911 calls over the past year or so. He made another one that night, saying that he had spotted a "suspicious" black man. The dispatcher told Mr Zimmerman to stay in his car, but Mr Zimmerman had already set out after Mr Martin. "These assholes, they always get away," he said in one of the 911 calls, which are posted at Mother Jones. Martin was, in fact, trying to get away; his girlfriend, whose identity is being protected because she's 16, had advised him to run after he told her he was being followed. Mr Zimmerman caught him, and some kind of fight ensued, ending when Mr Zimmerman shot and killed the unarmed teenager. When police arrived, they questioned Mr Zimmerman, but released him, and have since explained they have no cause to bring charges.

Based on reports and audios everyone knows that Gerorge Zimmerman stalked and murdered Trayvon Martin.

Another case from last month that the Obama DOJ has buried:
“This is what you deserve. You get what you deserve, white boy.” So spewed the attackers of Melissa Coon’s 13-year-old son, as they doused him with gasoline and set him alight.
Because the longer he stalls, the more agitprop the “community organizers” can put out about how The Man is out to keep them down and kill/eat their children. Holder does nothing, least of all his job, unless there’s political gain to be had from it.

Because murder isn't generally a federal crime unless it happens on federal property or in Washington, DC. This would be a crime under the State of Florida's laws.
While I am cynical to think that Obama and Holder are trying to figure out which path would be the least politically risky, I am also willing to chance that the law is conducting a thorough investigation as honesty would ultimately be the least risky path.
I don’t hear anyone calling for FBI to investigate the burning of the Coon kid. (Coon being his real name)
The more dribs & drabs that get out, the more this smells like a setup by a blackwash lynch mob.
Wrong, the feds will charge him and the charge will be a civil rights violation and they will win.
Big Red the liberal and race baiters are foaming at the mouth to make this a racial incident. I am sure if Mr Zimmerman had committed a crime he would have been arrested and not released.
The problem is the race baiters are not happy with the outcome of an apparent justifiable homicide of self defense. They are angered and what to make Mr. Zimmerman a guilty man, based on their hysterical and left-wing mindset.
I am a retired LEO and have seen this too many times with the FUBU crowd. I am glad to see another sane person on the FR.

But in this specific case , the DOJ has been asked to investigate.
And yet , after 3 days- nothing.
I am no supporter of shooting innocent unarmed kids.
However, the lack of charges being filed by this point indicates to me that there is more to this story.
I think it is common knowledge that Zimmerman had pretty serious injuries to his face and head.
Were they defensive on the boy’s part? Or had Zimmerman been attacked? I don’t know, but, there has to be a reason charges haven’t been filed yet.
Is there damage to the car door where the kid drug him out of the car, tear marks on the seat, blood and teeth marks on the steering wheel, he may have hit his head trying to stay in the car. That is it he was holding the door on his head so the big old seventeen year old could not beat the crap out of the twenty eight year old. You are probably on to something here, keep digging.
They are thinking this out so they can use it as a political weapon. Long long trial, ending as an Oct surprise, with him getting off and people so angry, they all come out to vote. They just have to figure out how to tie this to the republicans.
Apparently asking a stranger what they’re doing doesn’t mean you should be beaten, sued and/or prosecuted.

The more tension and public outrage, the better for the divisive purposes of this administration. If there are apparent racial problems and if minorities need a hero in DC who better to fill the bill than O. Some riots would be nice to show all the injustice the tea party is causing.
I don’t like the way the media is pushing the race angle and treating hearsay as fact to condemn the shooter. I don’t know what went down that night but I wish the media would stick to the facts. Showing the picture of the kid when he was 13 years old is also misleading. He was over 6 feet tall when this happened. It’s like they are working to create racial tension.
More information is now coming out. The kid is 6 ft 3 in about 200 lbs. I know he looks really small and sweet in the photos. He was just suspended for 10 days from school. A witness said the kid was beating the crap out of Zimmerman on the ground. I don’t know what really happened. Maybe Zimmerman should be charged. All I am saying is save the judgement until more facts come out.
Holder can’t decide to back the black kid or the Hispanic guy.
The left is trapped in it’s own racial politics.
Why is Holder stalling? The question should be why the he** is the fed involved at all? This is a local crime, not a fed crime. The only reason Holder has his a** stuck into it is because the dead guy is black. Were this a black guy shooting a white 17 yo male there would be no fed investigation.

I’m not on one side or the other. I have three sons. All have been 17 at one point; and they all walked the dog late at night.
Why assume I am trying to defend the shooter? I am just saying, this is not cut and dry, or I think charges would have been filed.
So you are the judge and the jury. I’m glad you are not involved in the law. Our constitution describes how this should be handled. I feel sorry for you.

Based on the statements of Zimmerman, whom the Sanford PD seem to have awarded benefit of the badge regarding his statements about the shooting.
So far we have had

To stir up racial resentments. It is a cold calculated development to keep the racial hatreds stirred up & fermenting . That way when the election comes around the Democrats will go around telling folks how they can get back at the “white trash “ & the “crackers” by voting for Obama. Also will provide opportunities for organizing what Maxine Waters referred to the LA riots as Rebellions against the man.

You missed the point I was trying to make by several miles.
The media whores are in fact working to fan the embers of racial hatred into flames for a couple of simple reasons ,first it will help Obama & second it will get them great news stories after all a bloody riot to avenge the black teen shot by a Latino portrayed as a white guy will get these media types lots of publicity.

You have total miss read the constitution. It is the very thing that guarantees the right that you can walk down the street .
He does not have the right to ask in the first place. Any if anyone was beaten to a pulp where is the medical report.
On more than one occasion, I've walked out of my house and tapped on the drivers side window of a car parked across the street, with it's music blaring so loud you can't hear yourself think. When the driver rolls down the window, the first thing I ask him is 'do you live around here.'
There is nothing in the Constitution that prevents me from doing that, and so long as I am acting in a reasonably civil manner, I doubt I would be running afoul of any local or state ordinances.
This is no different in principle from what George Zimmerman did, if indeed he was the first to make contact. Now, you can certainly argue the wisdom of doing such things, but I doubt very much that you can argue it's illegality.
Unless you have a compelling argument that contact between two citizens is, in itself, illegal, then this so called right that you think Mr. Martin has simply doesn't exist.
That said, I'm not about to condemn the man until I know all the facts, or at least a good portion of it.

While the Zimmerman ‘white’ on black killing is covered 24/7 on the MSM with an outpouring of rage and charges of a racial hate crime, where is the concern- where is the rage about the home invasion, torture, beating and the murder of the elderly white couple by ‘African Americans’ in Oklahoma just the other day?
The 90 year old war veteran husband was beaten, his jaw broken, shot in the face with a BB gun and now barely clings to life.
The 85 year old partially blind wife was raped and beaten to death.
Where is the 24/7 MSM coverage
