Singer Whitney Houston's use of cocaine "exacerbated her heart condition" and played a role in her accidental drowning in the bathtub of a Beverly Hills hotel suite, Los Angeles County Chief Coroner Craig Harvey said.
The long-awaited autopsy results were released Thursday after weeks of intense speculation over how the 48-year-old pop star died. It marks another high-profile Hollywood death connected to drug use, coming less than three years after Michael Jackson died suddenly at his Holmby Hills mansion. Jacksons death resulted from intoxication involving a powerful sedative, and his doctor was later convicted of involuntary manslaughter.

For this woman, they lowered flags . . . disgusting. One more drug-induced dead celebrity . . . and you know they’ll put her in the Cleveland Rock Hall of Fame along with the rest of the dozens and dozens of other druggies who overdosed.
Once she totally destroyed the beautiful love song by Dolly Parton (I Will Always Love You) with her incessant screaming and hollering until you thought you were deaf, I’ve had no use for this woman’s “talent.”
But I’m sure HollyWeird will canonize her as soon as possible. This woman had so little respect for her daughter and family to OD on cocaine, that she should be NOT be mourned as loudly as HollyWeird will do.
Druggies, famous or otherwise, should take showers, not baths.
While I would never have lowered flags for her, I do feel sympathy for a woman who married badly and, apparently, simply was not capable of living life as it unfolded for her.
My, oh, my, did she have a beautiful voice!
Those morning DJs better apologize! She weren’t no crack-ho; she were a coke-ho.
Your comments contradict the findings. She had one of the best voices of our time. This must make you feel better.
She didn’t of od if you bothered to read the article. Unless of course you have more knowledge than the coroner.
Well, not necessarily. I was told of a case of a Dentist who was a cocaine user, but he quit and completely cleaned up. One day, he was out jogging and dropped dead of a heart attack. Yes, the cocaine had damaged his heart. But the cause of death was a heart attack.
Golly.
Considering all the cocaine that Obama did (by his own admission), is he at risk for a heart attack now too?
If he used cocaine heavily over a period of time, I would guess that even now he would be in danger of a heart attack. That, plus his chain smoking would be a deadly combination. But, I don't know of any reports that said that he was anything more than an occasional user of cocaine.
But Im sure HollyWeird will canonize her as soon as possible. This woman had so little respect for her daughter and family to OD on cocaine, that she should be NOT be mourned as loudly as HollyWeird will do.
She is being overmourned by Hollywood for one reason and one reason only: to sell TV ratings, movie tickets, CDs, and DVDs. End of story.
Dreadful isn't it? But addicts will use even though the risk is extreme. I was told once of a young thief who was a heroin user. He had a Pilonidal cyst. Now this is something that is treatable and needn't usually cause great harm to the person. However the thief didn't get it treated, he kept using heroin so he was constantly "anesthetized." The cyst abscessed and ended up destroying his spinal cord nerves and he ended up in a wheel chair for life.
We now know that Whitney Houston died from a heart attack that caused her to drown while in the bathtub. It is now known that there is a direct correlation to atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use. It causes a blockage of the vessels in the heart to cause serious compromise of the heart. This damage will occur to the system at a young age what people experience much later in life.
Did Whitney get warnings that her use of cocaine was doing serious damage to her coronary system? She went to rehab several times. Didn’t they impress her with the effects of her cocaine use? If they did, she engaged in effect, suicide by drug use. Those who were her circle of friends may have been cocaine enablers who broke down her resistance to its use so that they could benefit in the generosity of a wealthy user. For a good look at the dynamics in her cocaine addiction, here is the link I found:

On further note, I emphasize that we are the ultimate captain of our ship. What Whitney Houston did to her body was her own doing. We cannot blame her social environment. However, if it was due to ignorance from the lack of information, that information should be made stronger so that more will understand the dangers of cocaine use and make the connection to the effects it had on Whitney Houston and what can happen to them.
Perhaps, what we call the Culture of Death, may need to take a reality check with their fantasy world on the Unicorn Farm: Their sport with cocaine is something they should take a serious look at.
If you like someone who screams as loud as she can, and then hold notes for a half hour while destroying the lyrics, and then goes up and down the scale 36 times in one second, and then has her jaw jerk from side to side for no reason.
Sorry, but Dolly Parton sang one of the nicest love songs in many years, and Whitney Screamer destroyed it. Nor am I'm impressed by her cocaine fatal OD.
It's a shame that these unexpected sudden drug deaths lead to such admiration.
What "reports" might that be?
All the "reports" are based on Obama's version. (yeah, I'm sure he didn't downplay his history of drug abuse).
There is of course, Larry Sinclair's "report", that says Obama smoked crack cocaine.
Knock yourself out, keep citing all those "reports".
I am only talking about what has already been discussed in public. If they are not official “reports,” I could care less. Obama is your hero, not mine.
While we're on the subject of crack, how much have you smoked tonight?
Death is a great career move.
None. Ever. And you?
You’re truly vile. The article indicated she did not OD on cocaine, the level hasn’t been determined which means it can’t be particularly significant.
You are truly brave to correctly characterize this drugged out diva's "singing". Bravo!
Whatever citations exist regarding that period in his miserable existence on this planet are based on his version alone. There are no 2nd party accounts, except for Sinclair.
So, when you say nothing has been reported to show him to be nothing more than an occasional user of cocaine, understand that it is his version and his alone.
..........and why you would believe anything that falls out of his mouth is beyond me.
If Obama says he wants gasoline to go to 4 dollars a gallon, I would absolutely believe him.
We each have our own opinions. She had a remarkable voice and her drug use made a heart condition worse. All how you spin it. She didn’t “od”. There are different ways to die. Od, combo, .. she didn’t have toxic doses. And what junkie doesn’t have staph or paraphernalia? Not defending he’d but why did she die? Not everyone that parties dies. Ie- sheen. 6 grams a hit.. really??
Well.. staph=stash.. could be the same..
You are smart enough to know that if he said $4.00, what he really wanted to say was $5.00.......$6.00......$7.00.......$8.00........
So, $4.00 would be a lie.
Again, why would you believe anything spewed from his blue lipped pie hole?
I’m with you. She was an extraordinary talent, and a tragic figure.
Answer the next question "yes" or "no."
Did Obama ever say he wanted gas to go to 4 dollars a gallon?
I hope this serves as a wake-up call for people.
What is so glamorous about cocaine?
Cocaine - When wealth and fame just isn’t enough.
I loved Bill Cosby’s routine:
I said to a guy, I said, “Tell me, what is it about cocaine that makes it so wonderful?”, and he said, “Well, it intensifies your personality.” I said, “Yes, but what if you’re an a$$hole?”
It was "glamorous" thirty years ago - today I don't know that it's any more so than alcohol (another drug that has taken many lives).
It was actually offered to me once but I turned it down. I didn’t know how I was going to react to it.
People have died the first time they used it.
Is it worth it?
That’s a good one. LOL.
That's a question every adult should be free to answer for himself - as with alcohol or tobacco use.
You're pretty much done for once that stuff damages your heart. It's irreversible.
You’re right.
