Skip to comments.Santorum: Might as well have Obama over Romney
Posted on 03/22/2012 9:00:58 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet
Presidential candidate Rick Santorum on Thursday said Republicans should give President Barack Obama another term if Santorum isn't the GOP nominee and for a second day compared rival Mitt Romney to an Etch A Sketch toy.
Santorum reiterated an argument he has made before: The former Massachusetts governor is not conservative enough to offer voters a clear choice in the fall election and that only he can provide that contrast.
"You win by giving people a choice," Santorum said during a campaign stop in Texas....

Only video that I have found is Newt endorsing the Tea Party because we were sick of paying taxes.
Romney Left and Romney Right? Or is that Romney and Obama?
And unbelievably reckless and irresponsible thing to say.
Herewith, I withdraw my support for Mister Santorum in the primary.
I suspect that this statement will ruin whatever chance he had at the nom, anyway.
It's one thing to be desperate, it's another thing to be a selfish fool.
(I had supported Bachmann until her candidacy ended, then Santorum. Now? Well...ugh.)
Oh yea, that is a sure road to victory. NOT. Sounds like just what the hard core Left would wish for.
Santos is in over his head.
***Santorum was a senator. Newt was a congresscritter. Santorum can surf these waters. He has more states won and more delegates than Newt so far.
Well Ricky must also as he tried VERY HARD to "Etch-A-Sketch" it with his "Obama is better that Romney" statement.
"Who did Gingrich endorse in 2008?"
Well YOU seemed to be the FIRST on this thread to almost instantly want to compare testicle size between Ricky and Newt concerning Ricky's "Obama is better than Romney" statement, as thought it was some kind of heroic historically bold statement, when in fact Obama and the DNC will almost certainly be using the "testosterone filled" comment in commercials in every state this next fall against Romney if he is chosen as the republican 2012 candidate.
You seem to have computer access. I suggest you Google your "Who Did Newt support in 2008" question. (OBTW, It WILL show up in your search history and I'm not sure if that violates any Ricky cheerleading members rules as it might go to Newt.org.)
What ever person Newt did endorsed (if he did) you can bet it won't come close to the level of the 2008 Ricky endorsement of Romney which some would say was the equivalent of a political "Lewinsky", and then turn around and claim NOW that Obama is BETTER than Romney.
He’s amply demonstrated he has the balls.
Fortunately, he’s also demonstrated he has the brains not to.
Ol’ Ricky boy is showing his true colors. He can be downright nasty when thwarted. Been there!
Really. Remember what they did to Condi Rice when she was names SoS--cartoons of Aunt Jemima. The Left has no scruples, and no bottom.
No- Newt was Speaker of the House, second in line for the Presidency after the VP.
Don’t worry he would jerk the trigger and miss by a mile.
It’s all over but the actual voting. The best we can hope for now is a Republican House and Senate that will have the guts to stop anything the second-term dictator tries to push through.
What a disaster for conservatism this campaign has become.
Are you sure those cartoons appeared in any prominent left leaning media such as WAPO, NYT, LAT, CBS/NBC/ABC? Or was it some low subscription hard left media?
I would posit attacks on gov. Martinez would be nothing like the major onslaught on gov. Palin.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Congresscritters.
Like Nancy Pelosi.
Fortunately, hes also demonstrated he has the brains not to.
***Argument from silence. Classic Fallacy.
***What difference does it make whether I do or not? This is about Newt, Santorum, zer0bama and RomNitt.
You go fetch. Answer for your candidate, if you care, dare, or have a pair.
“Rick is still my guy, but that comment really has me wondering. ....”
Perry and Herman Cain have had brain freezes, and most of the candidates, including Romney, have had gaffes, but not Rick, at least not until lately.
imo, Rick is working too hard, and should realize he cant win the battle without getting enough sleep.
Heres an interesting commentary and video on this subject:
Would he really settle for Obama over Romney? I dont believe it. It is so absurd that I tend to think he got something mixed up in his head and it didnt come out the way he meant it. Because its just not true and Ive heard him say otherwise beforehand.

All of Governor Sarah Palin’s children are Native Americans. Did that stop the media from abusing them?
