Ever since his CPAC Keynote Address in 2010, Rep. Allen West (R-FL) has been one of the gold standards of modern American political conservatism. He has also been widely hailed as a political model for conservative African American politicians. And now, following recent revelations surrounding the highly suspicious shooting of Trayvon Martin, Rep. West has joined a growing bipartisan consensus calling for the case to be reopened, possibly even with Federal assistance. West’s statement, put out today by Talking Points Memo, resonates with controlled fury (emphasis added):
itself in Sanford, Florida involving the shooting of 17-year-old Treyvon Martin. First of all, if all that has been reported is accurate, the Sanford Police Chief should be relieved of his duties due to what appears to be a mishandling of this shooting in its early stages. The US Navy SEALS identified Osama Bin Laden within hours, while this young man laid on a morgue slab for three days. The shooter, Mr Zimmerman, should have been held in custody and certainly should not be walking free, still having a concealed weapons carry permit. From my reading, it seems this young man was pursued and there was no probable cause to engage him, certainly not pursue and shoot him….against the direction of the 911 responder. Let’s all be appalled at this instance not because of race, but because a young American man has lost his life, seemingly, for no reason. I have signed a letter supporting a DOJ investigation. I am not heading to Sanford to shout and scream, because we need the responsible entities and agencies to handle this situation from this point without media bias or undue political influences. This is an outrage.

I agree with West. Local authorities did a lousy job of investigating the incident, and there needs to be a thorough and unbiased investigation.

From what I’ve heard, Zimmerman was attacked as he was going back to his truck by this “kid”. Witnesses agree with that along with the 911 call where he’s getting beat up. He shot the “kid” in self defense...that’s why he’s not been arrested.
Mr. West needs to keep his nose out of it.

Martin out weighed Zimmerman, and towered over him, and inflicted serious injury.
He was 6’ and 160 lbs. I have the police report saved that lists these details. And Zimmerman started the confrontation.
Eric Holder is already conducting a Federal Investigation.
Has been for a week.
Holder will never arrest Zimmerman.
The closest he will come is being in the same state in which a Grand Jury pushes to arrest Zimmerman.

I don’t see those witness statements in the police report, although I see there are multiple witnesses listed in the report. Where’s the link to those witness statements and are these the same people listed in the police report?

There are 6 witnesses listed in the police report, 3 males and 3 females. None of those witnesses gave statements in the police report indicating there was a fight.

The charge in the police report is: Homicide - Negligent, Manslaughter - Unnecessary Killing to Prevent Unlawful Act.
Why don’t you read the police report before posting?
The two officers responding had 6 witnesses as listed in the police report. Those witness statements are not listed in the report, but there are also no statements by the two responding officers that indicated the witnesses told the police that Martin attacked Zimmerman.
Basically, you’re guessing as to what happened.
Why shouldn’t a death be investigated? Doesn’t that give a better chance for the truth, whatever it is, to come out?
Given West’s own willingness to employ a sidearm when necessary, one would think he’d be a little more willing to extend the benefit of the doubt and not make any public pronouncements until all the facts are in.
Seems to me there already has been an investigation, but it just didn't turn out the way the race pimps wanted.

Police in Kansas City are investigating a possible hate crime after a 13-year-old boy was doused in gasoline and set on fire. According to Allen Goin’s mother, the attack occurred just as her son was getting home from school. She said,

So this guy should be slammed in jail, in irons if necessary, w/o trial. And the Police Chief fired for refusing to jump to conclusions.

I have a ‘partial’ report saved. And No where does it state that. The officer making the report noted that Zimmerman is wounded and bleeding and his back was wet and had grass all over it.
This report also states that Zimmerman is white. The date of the printout is 3/6
Can you copy the section where it states Zimmerman started the confrontation?

Have you ever heard of a shooter not being arrested if there was any evidence that the shoot wasn’t clean?

When was the last time you know of in a shooting where the police allowed the shooter to keep his firearm, and didn’t subject it to any tests?
To start with I wasn’t sure what happened.
As more and more info is available I am leaning toward it being a justifiable homicide.
And to those who just automatically decide Zimmerman is guilty of murder, well you are wrong.

I read the article from the blaze and I don’t see any refernece to what you have listed.
And yes, I am -speculating - as to what happened, because I wasn’t there, and the media is only reporting one side of the story in a very biased fashion.
But you know what? Zimmerman wasn’t arrested, and that speaks VOLUMES, especially considering all the whiny race pimps crying for his arrest.
Furthermore, the police reports I’ve read support Zimmerman’s version of events, indicating he shot a violent criminal attempting to cause he harm or death.
And if that is the case, I SUPPORT ZIMMERMAN.

The investigation is on-going as has been reported. To say he’s innocent because he hasn’t been arrested is premature.
