SANFORD, Fla. — The Rev. Al Sharpton, an MSNBC host and liberal political figure, riled up a mostly-black Sanford, Fla., crowd on Thursday night in the wake of the killing of 17-year-old student Trayvon Martin.
“Some people said to me in the media — ‘Let me get this straight,’ they said. ‘Reverend, it seems like there’s a lot of people who are angry — are you afraid of violence?’” Sharpton preached to the central Floridian crowd. “I said, ‘No. I’m afraid of the violence you already had.’”
“Violence is killing Tray Martin,” Sharpton continued. “Don’t act like we are the ones [who are] violent. We didn’t shoot nobody.”
Despite his harsh rhetoric, Sharpton warned the thousands in attendance to avoid resorting to violence at all costs as the Martin case progresses. “I want our people to understand that how you behave is going to be a reflection on this case,” Sharpton instructed the crowd. “[No matter] how angry we get, don’t let them make you act in a way that they will say, ‘see, that’s what to think with Trayvon.’”
“We are going to act intelligent,” Sharpton said.

I’m certain that as soon as the furor in Sanford dies down, all those protestors will mount up in their buses and head for KCMO to vent their spleen against those two devils that set the white boy on fire.

He’s a Reverend, just like Jim Jones was a “Reverend.”
I saw one sign which said something to the affect of “If You Don’t Take A Stand Against Injustice You Are Part of The OPPRESSOR”
And here we get to the heart of the issue because it's statements like this that set the stage for an incident like this to happen. It gives moral justification for violent reactions to perceived animus. By his rhetoric, Sharpton has just created a whole new generation of Trayvon Martins, convinced that they should strike rather than negotiate in disputed social circumstances, which is probably what really happened in Sanford.
Nobody want to know the facts about this case and nobody cares. All that matters is, how do you explain the violent reactions within the Black community, that everybody knows is true, without indicting it. No less than cultural pride is on the line here.
This could escalate very quickly and very dangerously if people don;t come to their senses soon, which doesn't seem to be happening, especially since the media is willfully fueling it. The Police Chief in Sanford no doubt has already figured this out which is probably why he temporarily stepped down. He senses the seriousness of where this can go, and where it's heading already.
People are right, it's going to be a long hot summer....
And the reason Obama has avoided touching this case with a ten foot pole. When asked about it his press secretary gave some response to the effect of "This is a local matter therefore we have no official position, we send out condolences to those involved." (which is amazingly, exactly what he should have said, but if this had been a Republican president he would be destroyed in the media and the black community for such a weak response.)

I somehow get the feeling Sharpton would not have been attracted to this case if Mr. Martin had been an innocent victim. It’s not an accomplishment for Al unless he can lie; maybe it proves for him that he is stronger than the truth.
What if the race of each person involved were reversed.
Al and his race hustlers would have demonized the dead white kid for attacking an innocent black guy just out protecting his neighborhood.
It’s all about the color of the skin no matter the circumstances according to Non-Rev Sharpton and his race hustlers.

Basically the crazy left has gone full racist, too bad the professional sell out “conservatives” will be there to endorse this anti-white craziness.

It actually happened a few years back on Long Island, with the John White case. A black father confronted a gang of drunken white teanagers who came to his house in the middle of the night to attack his son over a bogus online “rape” threat. One of them was particularly aggressive, slapping at or grabbing for (depending upon who you believe) his gun and he shot him to death.
Sharpton rallied in favor of Mr. White, who was convicted on gun and manslaughter charges and spent a couple of years in prison.
I strongly supported John White in that case, and based upon what I know so far, I support Zimmerman though I would like more evidence about exactly what happened.
Sharpton, on the other hand, supports black men who protect themselves against violent white teens (and rightfully so), but condemns hispanic men who protect themselves against violent black teens.
The other thing that really irks me is that Sharpton stated, “”We are tired of going to jail for nothing and others going home for something.”
First, this is not a case where someone “went to jail for nothing”.
More importantly, if Al Sharpton and his crew were really upset of killers of black people “going home for something” their number one focus would be on ending the “Stop Snitching” movement that is being pushed by certain elements in the black population.
Hundreds if not thousands of murderers of black people are “going home for something” because young people are being indoctrinated that it is morally wrong to help the police put murderers in jail. Even if we assume Zimmerman was a racist, monster who killed Martin in cold blood (clearly not the case) such crimes are extremely rare, but black on black murders are all too common.
Al Sharpton ran for President in 2004--he would have been the Democrat nominee if the Democrats weren't such racists that they put a couple of less-qualified white guys on the ticket instead. /s
Geraldo was on "Fox & Friends" this morning talking about this--while not excusing Zimmerman, he mostly denounced the wearing of "hoodies" (because so often criminals holding up stores or mugging people are wearing them, that someone wearing one might appear threatening even if he wasn't armed, as Treyvon turned out not to be).
