TRUMP TO GOP: Stay Away From Paul Ryan's Budget ("Very dangerous for Republicans")
Business Insider ^ | 03/23/2012 | Grace Wyler

As Washington gears up for a fight over House Budget Chair Paul Ryan's latest federal budget proposal, Donald Trump has some advice for Republicans: Stay away.

The real estate mogul/reality TV host/presidential hopeful tweeted this afternoon:

Trump doesn't elaborate on his thinking. But as we pointed out earlier this week, Ryan's new budget plan is politically troublesome for the GOP heading into the 2012 election. Ryan's first stab at the budget was a disaster for the party last year, and Democrats are eagerly gearing up for Round II.

Another great endorsement for the Ryan budget!

The more clowns that come out against it, the more I like it.

Trump=Romney=Disaster

The Ryan budget is one of the mildest solutions we have to try and tackle this huge debt problem. We can’t afford to play politics as usual like Hairpiece wants. He can screw.

Trump is arguing it is wiser to be cautious and do nothing. Make the entire election a referendum on Obama instead of a fight over ideas. Donald could be right about this, though it is a very timid approach. He made the same argument when Ryan put out his budget last year and the media/Democrats fired up the Mediscare campaign. The difference this time is, I believe, Ryan has allowed for an opt-out so senior citizens can keep the old Medicare exactly how they have it if they prefer.

Trump, the life-long Democrat, shows once again why he needs to be fired.

Why? Why would he be against it? Cuts would benefit the likes of Donald, or is he a complete socialist-lite, too?

I guess I’ve never been too clear on where he stands.

Make the election a referendum on the Ryan budget - making it clear the Senate - under Democratic leadership- has not passed a budget since Obama was elected. Obama has not had a single Congressman vote to accept his budget.

The lack of leadership on this issue is astounding. This is what the election needs to be about.

That’s *exactly* what needs to be done, but the RINOs won’t do it.

Wrong. Trump is right. This is not the time for this. It has been made radioactive because it was not properly presented and we need senior votes right now.

Get the bastard Obama out, then pursue this.

Politics is the art of the possible.

Details are for governing. Ideas and emotions are for campaigning. Ryan’s House can pass no budget reforms this year that will be signed into law by Obamam. Beating Obama will be a battle for the hearts of Americans not a math contest. Trump is right. Not to say we don’t need a detailed budget plan at some point, but it’s better to just say we need to cut 2 trillion and balance the budget, or stop out of control spending and debt growth. Anecdotal wasteful spending cuts will make great commercials and sound bites but a comprehensive plan of how to achieve a balanced budget is more truth that than the electorate can handle.

Is there anyone other than Paul Ryan and most freepers that DOESN'T want to see an economic collapse of our country?

Yes, anyone that gets a government paycheck does not want to see an economic collapse. And that includes Ryan and most freepers.

OK, Mr. Trump. We’ll take that under advisement.

(How did Donald Trump suddenly get to be a pundit?)

Yes, we can always deal with reality later, we just have to win now. And then after the election, we’ll have to be cautious and get ready for the next election, so we may want to put off any real reforms till after the next election, and then...
