Controversial new Santorum ad: “Welcome to Obamaville”
Hot Air ^ | 3/23/12 | Allahpundit

Watch the spot first and try to guess which part has been flagged as controversial before you click here to check your answer. I knew he’d get rapped for it the moment I saw the ad this morning, and if a dummy like me saw it coming, it’s hard to see how his ad team didn’t. Or maybe, having consumed online political media voraciously for the past six years (burp), my sense of what gets them to perk up is simply better honed than Team Sweater Vest’s? Either way, here’s their adamant denial that they were equating anyone with anyone else. No worries, guys: Our bipartisan debt bomb will get us before the Iranian bomb does.

Dave Weigel calls this “Umbrage Bait” designed to offend Team O and get them talking the (implied) charge. Maybe, but I’m not sure how that moves Santorum one inch closer to the goal line of beating Romney.

Looks like a fine ad to me. Would have been nice if all the candidates and their superPAC’s had been on the air constantly with these sorts of spots attacking Hussein for the last 6 months.

Pretty good ad. If anyone thinks that these candidates aren’t going to be attacked for everthing they do, they must have lived in Obamaville too long.

Gonna be ugly for any Not Romney for here on out. GOP-e wants this race wrapped up.

Looks good to me - depicts with chilling prescience the Serlingesque dystopianism awaiting us in Obama's second term.

Nos genuflectitur ad non princeps sed Princeps Pacem!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

If the left is angry with the ad, it is because it is a harsh attack on the Obama-messiah and not on the other Republicans.

As if telling the truth is controversial.

Great ad.

I remember when just calling a politician a liberal was the kiss of death - liberal politicians squealed like stuck pigs when it was used. So of course the GOP obliged them by no longer using the term.

Obama is a jihadi sympathizing anti American socialist. Since there's nothing to lose and everything to gain, why not just tell the truth & the bleating MSM be damned?

If that is “controversial” they should see the ads I would be running in their location.
