DETROIT (WJBK ) -- It was a slow, sleepy Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Dollar General on East Lafayette in Detroit. Two guys walked into the store. One of them had a gun.
They forced a female employee to give them a bag of cash, but the security guard at the store is a retired Detroit police officer. He worked in the homicide division. He said what's the deal. Investigators say one of the bad guys with the gun pointed it at the retired officer, but in one, swift move he pulled his gun and shot the armed robber in the face.
EMS responded. The armed robber shot once in the face was rushed to Detroit Receiving Hospital. He was dead on arrival.
"I think it's horrible that someone died, but the Bible says you live by the sword, you die by the sword," said Deaunt Moore.
"Very shocking. I've been working this area about a year and never heard of anything like this, and when I heard it, very shocking," said Willie Abrams.
The partner of the armed robber ran with a bag of cash. He dropped that bag in the parking lot. All of the money was recovered. The second suspect escaped.
Detroit police are now investigating the entire incident.
They didn’t interview Deuncle?
They’re still looking for L’monjello.
Love the answer he gave. One of Detroit’s finest.
This “self-defense” thing is out of control. How are hoodie-wearing gang members and criminals supposed to make a living? Will the President exploit this criminal’s death for votes like the case in Florida?
Guess the thug figured his arse was more important than $300. Too bad his homie didn't see it that way.
Maybe more details can be supplied by Deniece or Denephew
Dirty Harry lives!
Reads like a single tap versus the recommended “double tap”. But then the robber may have folded up before the retired officer could tap again. Whatever the case, BRAVO.
What is Officer Fataly’s first name?
Q: ‘What is Officer Fatalys first name?’
Good Job by the retired policeman! We need many more like him, then maybe the public would be safe again!
OMG! The comments are too funny.
Real journalist are a thing of the past.
Oh, and I’m sooooo sorry for the dead guy. /s
No race mentioned so I guess it isn’t politically fodder.
However, Dedog aint talkin.
Did the dead perp look like Obama’s son, if he’d had one?
Bad news for the partner who ended up getting a broken thumb and a real ass whippin to the point he was begging my friend to stop.
When the cops arrived, the perp tried to pin assault charges on my friend and the perp couldn't be arrested since HE didn't have the wallet in his posession. It was his word against my friend's......
After the cops left, my friend talked to a guy on the street who knew where the escaped guy lives so my buddy paid him to take him to the house.
Considering the large amount of money that my buddy lost, he's not going to put this behind him. He's a little crazy and definitely not someone to screw around with..........
