'Maybe the copy key got stuck on the presidential speechwriter's keyboard.'
American Thinker ^ | 3/24/2012 | Rick Moran

Posted on 03/24/2012 11:19:24 AM PDT by WPaCon

This one is worth a chortle or two. It reminds us how lucky we are to have such a smart president - at least that's what we're told, eh?

Weekly Standard:

Thomas Buch-Andersen, host of the Danish TV show Detektor, mocked President Obama's political rhetoric in a recent episode. "Obama used a metaphor from boxing to explain Denmark's role in the world," says Buch-Andersen, introducing the segment.

He then roles the tape. "That's fairly typical of the way that Danes have punched above their weight in international affairs," President Obama says at a press availability in the Oval Office with Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt of Denmark.

"It's nice to be praised," Buch-Andersen remarks. "We punch harder than our weight class would suggest. But how much should we read into his words? According to Obama, are we doing any better than, say, the Norwegians?"

The TV host again turns to the tape, this time showing President Obama in the Oval Office with Norwegian prime minister Jens Stoltenberg. "I've said this before, but I want to repeat: Norway punches above its weight," Obama says.

Back to Buch-Andersen. "Hmm. So Norway packs a punch too. But what about the Netherlands? Here, their head of government, Mark Rutte, visits Obama."

The tape roles yet again. "We have no stronger ally than the Netherlands," says Obama. "They consistently punch above their weight."

The TV host continues, pointing to the similar rhetoric Obama used when Ireland's head of state came to town, and then the Philippines.

Buch-Andersen wonders aloud, "Maybe the copy key got stuck on the presidential speechwriter's keyboard."

Never heard about it, either.

Obama not only has a math block, he has a vocabulary deficiency - has to repeat the same memorized phrase over and over. The man is an idiot! We no longer have a White House. It’s an idiot asylum, and someone has surrounded Obama with Asylum Czars to keep the place running.

Excellent! Will any of the GOP-candidates dare to use it?

Thomas Buch-Andersen does a masterful job exposing TOTUS...
....when he has to rely on memory, instead of a teleprompter : )

Hilarious!

If a Republican had said these things, they’d be ridiculed in the MSM for years.

1.) “He then roles the tape.”
2.) “The tape roles yet again.”

Dear Rick,
If you are going to write an article about repetitive stupidity and expect to be taken seriously, maybe you should avoid making stupid repetitive mistakes. This is embarrassing.
It completely neutralizes any point you were trying to make and makes you look foolish and hypocritical.

Reminds me of the Soviet citizen when asked about their economic system: "We pretend to work, and they pretend to pay us".

In this case, the speechwriter pretends to write it, Obama pretends to believe it, and I pretend to listen to it. Oh, and the Media pretends to report it...

Dear Mesta,
If you’re going to accuse someone of “making stupid repetitive mistakes,” which “completely neutralizes any point you were trying to make and makes you look foolish and hypocritical” you should make sure you’re accusing the right person.

Rick Moran was quoting and linking to another article in his American Thinker blog post. The misspellings occurred in the original article in the Weekly Standard.

Should he have made an issue of them in his blog post, and thereby “completely neutralize” the main message regarding Obama, as you have apparently chosen to do?

Apologies to Rick Moran, but the message is the same. To DANIEL HALPER.
Look. Whenever you intend to make a point, and repeat mistakes while doing so, it affects the way people receive the message.

All I am saying is PROOFREADING would save embarrassment and make the point stick. Repeating mistakes, especially in an article about repetitive stupidity, IS embarrassing, and yes, Moran should have corrected it as many others would by simply adding (sic).

Is it too much to ask that our guys don’t make themselves look like fools? Do you think I am the only one who noticed it?
Lord knows I have made enough typos in my lifetime, but to misuse the language this way was not a typo and people who write for public consumption, especially conservatives, should strive to BE a cut above.

PS, if you are intending to mock someone, do NOT give the reader, especially the libs, ammunition to mock YOU.
DO BETTER.
I see this too often and it makes me cringe.

The date it happened: May 24, 2011.

What happened?: Obama signs his name in a guest book in England and then writes the date as May 24, 2008.

Three years off? Must have been some heavy dope.

“Obama not only has a math block, he has a vocabulary deficiency - has to repeat the same memorized phrase over and over. The man is an idiot!”

You nailed it there my friend! I saw this story on Fox & Friends this morning and they were blaming the speech writers, but I agree with you. It's not the speech writers...It's the speech giver...Without the teleprompter the writers have no choice but to give Obama the same repetitive catch phrases so he won't screw it up.

The only time he speaks well without his teleprompter is when he’s using Arabic phrases - thoroughly proficient.
