Go back and do some research on the Suez Canal crisis of 1956 to learn the history of the area and how the world got where it is now. In a rather bizarre turn of events, the 1956 dispute involved Israel, France and Great Britan on one side and Egypt, the U.S. and the Soviet Union (talk about strange bedfellows) on the other.
