Witness: Zimmerman 'Never ... Tried To Help' Trayvon Martin

A woman who says she and her roommate witnessed the final moments of Trayvon Martin's life told Dateline NBC that George Zimmerman had "his hands pressed on his back" and "never turned him over or tried to help him."
Zimmerman's lawyer, when shown part of the interview being aired Sunday night on Dateline, emphasized that his client would be claiming self-defense.
"I think there were efforts made to render aid to Trayvon," Craig Sonner told NBC's TODAY show.
Mary Cutcher told Dateline that she and her roommate both saw Zimmerman "straddling the body, basically a foot on both sides of Trayvon's body, and his hands pressed on his back."
Cutcher added that Zimmerman told her and her roommate to call the police. "Zimmerman never turned him over or tried to help him or CPR or anything," Cutcher said.
Sonner also reiterated what he had said in recent days, that Zimmerman suffered a broken nose and a gash to the back of his head.
A friend of Zimmerman's who appeared on TODAY with Sonner added that Zimmerman, 28, was distraught over the teen's death.
"Right after the shooting he couldn't stop crying," said Joe Oliver, who is African American and a former TV reporetr and anchor in Orlando.
Zimmerman has not been charged in the Feb. 26 shooting that has ignited racial tensions and raised questions about the Sanford police's handling of the case. Martin was black, and Zimmerman's father is white and his mother is Hispanic.
In a separate interview Sunday, Oliver said that "I'm a black male and all that I know is that George has never given me any reason whatsoever to believe he has anything against people of color.''

Once you have the victim subdued, you cannot use deadly force.

For all those people possessing perfect clairvoyant powers, the use of deadly force to repel a non-deadly attack is wrong.
For the rest of us, not possessing any superhuman powers of perception, if you find yourself on the ground being pummeled by a maniac, with absolutely no way to know what his ultimate intention is - blow the M_F_ away and let lawyers sort it out. Better to be defended by one than carried by six.
I think expecting Zimmerman to give aid to Martin, under the circumstances, is unreasonable. Zimmerman was probably in a state of shock and he’s not a professional.
If I had been Zimmerman, it probably wouldn’t even have crossed my mind.
I’ve heard reports that Trayvon had Zimmerman pinned to the ground. I mean, how else could you explain the grass stains on the back of his shirt and the bloodied face?

Whenever race is injected to describe what appears to be an unconstitutional act of deadly force, where the color of the victim shouldn’t matter, it is race-baiting and like bees to honey, the Sharptons, Jacksons, and their backers come in to make political hay and use the occasions for fund raising and line their pockets in the process.
Really? Florida is not an open carry state, and Zimmerman would have been breaking the law to open display his weapon.

Reading your posts in this thread and the other one sure make my blood pressure go up. Has nothing to do with race baiting or anything else except the facts. Lets have “all” the facts then pass judgment. I despise people who play the race card.
Maybe if you’d have been there to tell Zimmerman that he was getting pummeled but it wouldn’t be a deadly pummeling the this could have been prevented.
Conservatives be smart. Liberals want to draw us in and blame us. Respond by saying this is a Latino vs Black affair. They should resolve this with their political and legal forces. All non Latinos and non Blacks keep out of it. In other words, be the monkey on the rock watching two lions fight.

My understanding (which is consistent with the use of the word “body”) is that the situation being described by Cutcher took place AFTER the shooting. A witness (”John”) described Martin being on top of Zimmerman punching him in the face prior to the shooting (consistent with Zimmerman’s facial wounds).
Constitution...Rule of Law...Due Process...Innocent Until Proven Guilty. America.

If someone has me pinned to the ground, already broken my nose, and is still pummeling me, I’ll do any and EVERYTHING to stop him.
I imagine he's pretty high on adrenaline at this point. I have no idea what his skills and training are, as far as first aid in a life threatening trauma. Most people are taught to not move the person around, as that has a risk of aggravating injury.

Whether an attack is life threatening or not is dependent on the victims immediate thoughts and perceptions. So when is he allowed to shoot, before or after he goes unconcious, leaving him with no protection?
Zimmerman should have never gotten out of his vehicle, but that doesnt mean he should be beaten to a pulp or worse.
Spend a couple of nights in the hood without a weapon and report back to me...if you can.....

When the facts finally all come to light, perhaps you will be correct, but at this point in time you are being prejudicial towards Zimmerman out of ignorance, IMO.
Wouldn’t a deadly attack by definition have to result in death, and isn’t that a little late to be decided on the nature of the attack?

George Zimmerman is a Captain in the local Neighborhood Watch and as an offIcial officer he does not and should not take orders from a clerk answering phone calls at 911, Especially, when Zimmerman found himself being stalked by a scary man in a hoodie.

Martin was subdued because deadly force had been used to repel his potentially lethal attack. Martin wasn’t shot after Zimmerman was able to get up.
org.whodat, you know that the physical fight was started by Zimmerman, then? Can you provide some evidence on that for those of us who don’t know?
Since Martin was already shot, the best thing Zimmerman could do was to leave him alone until qualified medical help arrived.
Prove what, that is what they have all said, and when you have a real authorized community watch group, their rules say you cannot carry a weapon and you cannot approach anyone, you can only watch from a distance. Zimmerman had no legal authorization to approach and start and altercation with anyone. And knock off the personal crap.
You mean Martin started the fight, not Zimmerman.
