$25 what a buy!
They go for $100-$150 for the conversion barrels I’ve bought.
Tom brings up a serious point.
If you can disengage.
Do it!
Do not escalate a situation

Got a short story to tell. My wife bought me a BSA red dot sight as an anniversary present (actually it's one of those Red-Green-Blue dot sights that allow you to change color and intensisty based on lighting conditions). Unfortuanately, I had to tell her it won't fit on any guns I have because none of them have rails.
I was on another gun board last night and a guy said that if you remove the complete rear sight assembly on a Mosin M91/30 there is a 3/8" beaver tail on the barrel. I never knew that.
Removing the sight and installing the red dot was a piece of cake. I haven't had it to the range yet but I did the best I could at bore sighting using just my naked eye. When I got out in regular light I was amazed to see that the red dot co-witnesses the top tip of my front iron sight perfectly! SWEET!
A red dot sight on a Mosin looks a little silly but I'm thinging it'll shoot pretty darned good.

Yep. The literature and web site claims it will hold on any center-fire rifle or shotgun.
(I’ll take a screwdriver and a tube of blue Loctite with me when I go to the range.)

That’s good thinking, but I meant the internals

Well, I'll be giving it a good test soon.
(These things can be had for about $42 so if it shakes apart it won't be the end of the world.)

Its a nice looking red dot and I love red dots, but I have had a couple shake apart on heavy recoil rifles.
Let me know how it works out, because I could use something like that.

How many rounds does that hold?
I see it doesn’t have the extended magazine body that drops down in front of the trigger guard like most Mosin variants.
It definitely looks like it’s shorter than a mile-long 91/30!

Tom talking to this guy about hunting with gloves reminds me of a story.
One of my buddies is out hunting and he goes down the side of the mountain to flush the deer and his party is trailing behind.
Half way down he has to take a crap. He has no TP so he thinks “I’ll use the glove and toss it, then I’ll just keep that trigger hand in my pocket”
A while later one of the guys in the hunting party yells “Hey! ****! Is this your glove?”
And he shouts back...”You don’t want that MFer”!

The va has a letter of understanding from the doj & batfe & they are referencing the Brady Handgun Control Act of 1993. You can also check with the NRA’s last convention where Rep. Issa spoke about this.
