The British government has unveiled a new "integration strategy" designed to "champion a united British identity."
The new policy will require immigrants seeking admission to live in the United Kingdom to learn English and adhere to "mainstream" British culture and values such as democracy and the rule of law.
The measures represent a continuation of recent efforts by the government to reverse decades of state-sponsored multicultural policies that have allowed Muslim immigrants to avoid integration and establish a parallel society in Britain.

Britain should be multicultural: English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish.

It may never be a good time to move to britain in our lifetimes. They have some very frightening speech crime laws where 3rd parties not even covered by your comment can get you prosecuted, for one. The apparent anarcho-tyranny model of criminal justice is another.
The UK is the ideal western model of an orwellian state, in my opinion. It is a much more tranquil model that what is being built in the US, which I suspect is going to include some number of pogroms early on.
Last I heard, and it was a couple of years back, there were 2 million muzzies in Britain...probably double that now as they outbreed the locals (read it was 5 to 1 in Germany). Britain waited too long, as did France and Germany. From what I am reading I think the Nordic countries are catching on...but also waited a tad too long to draw a line in the sand. Used to be if a country was going to try and take you over they initiated war...now it seems they just envelop you with legal or illegal immigration and outbreed you.
I think the Brits are tired of Islam trying to tell them what to do, as are some other countries. I find it interesting that they can do this and we can’t see the writing on the wall.
Cameron’s values involve kicking the church, opening the immigration floodgates and bowing down to gays.
The biggest foreign crisis the US faces will be what to do when the UK and Europe begin expelling Muslims enmasse.
Will we support that policy, be neutral, or offer the US as an asylum (the nightmare scenario) for Muslims?

For this reason, well known “ghettos” of particular peoples need to be broken up, sliced into pieces with “internal walls” of different people forming a boundary between them.
For example, say there is a ghetto area. Gentrify a two or three area block right down the middle, then give preferences to outside businesses to both occupy them, but employ local people.
Have similar businesses “facing outward”, to reduce incentive to travel from one side of the “wall” to the other, then “interfere” with the connecting streets to make it even more difficult.
This divides that ghetto into two similar but disconnected ghettos, forcing both to deal with outsiders more than each other.
Such subdivisions can be made until the ghetto loses its racial identity.
Nice idea but I see nothing in the article on how such a policy could be enforced.
Once the immigrant is in the country how do police his entry in to mainstream British culture and how do you monitor his adherence to the rule of law in his personal life?
Besides these obvious questions there is the fundamental fact that it is a little late to start bucking up British culture. That horse left the barn a few decades ago. I think I fed my dog some of that horse from a can back in the seventies.
Just ask any normal adult in San Francisco what it was like back then. How many modern parents would allow a 12-year-old to explore all of San Francisco, from Hunters Point to the Sutro Baths, and from lake Merced to the Aquatic Park Pier and everywhere in between with total safety on a three-speed bike?
It was multiculturalism in fact, with no hostility or political maneuvering and constant conflict. Black Panthers back then were simply something that might be found at the zoo, another common bike destination.
There were never mentions of "multiculturalism" anywhere. We all simply lived it.

Cameron saying this is like Pelosi claiming Obamacare will take good care of the elderly. He’s saying it because he knows Brits are tired of being pushed around and losing their freedoms. He does not mean it.
I think Great Britain should dump their parliament and go back to using Kings and Queens to run their country. They seemed to be a much better nation when they were run by kings, at least for most of history:) Just keep those kings away from the US!
That is why a lot of planning must go into doing this properly. That the locals might benefit from the process is incidental, compared to dividing the ghetto, which is the main objective. So no reason to not just put an “industry” there with solid walls, guarded entrances and exits.
Nothing to burn, possibly even putting spray nozzles high up on the walls to spray paint over any graffiti. And graffiti artist.
If there are things like projects in the ghetto, those must be gradually gentrified. Replace them with one story buildings that are more manageable.

Parliaments have existed in the UK for 800 years. Thank god. Britain at times in its history was ruined by brutal kings who believed in divine rule and restricted the basic freedoms of the people.
The British Empire flourised from the 17th to mid 20th C, and the restriction of monarchial power and the expansion of parliamentary power has a great deal to do with that.
Muslims do not own Britain, and Sharia Law is only allowed in five English cities, and is legally curtailed, like Jewish Beth Din law, to civil cases. Therefore the vast majority of UK Muslims have no access to it.
The Royal Navy, like all the British armed forces, has been reduced, due to national debt, but it does not ‘suck’. As a proud Brit, who has served in the armed forces, I take great offence to such a comment. The British armed forces are still a superbly trained and well led force that is still one of the things that makes this country still great.
The British armed forces, man for man, pound for pound, is as good as any in the world and better than 99.99%. We may not be the biggest anymore, but we are pound for pound as good as any.
As to ‘communism’, no Britain didnt sink into communism. Like many Americans, you cannot grasp the difference between socialism and communism. Both badly flawed systems, but communism is different and much worse. Britain post 1945 in many areas of life embraced a well meaning and attractive socialism, one that looked to sort the problems of poverty, race, gender, sexuality, education, immigration etc. What it actually created was serious social problems, be it education, multiculturalism, poverty etc.
We are now seeing the sad ‘fruits’ of that failed idea. And we have only really realised in hindsight in the last 15-20 years the damage done.
