The mother of slain teen Trayvon Martin wants to trademark her son's name in the slogans, "I am Trayvon" and "Justice for Trayvon," according to two petitions filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Federal documents show Sybrina Fulton, the teen's mother, is the owner of the trademark petitions, which were filed online March 21 by her attorneys Kimra Major-Morris and Natalie Jackson of the Women's Trial Group.
The trademarks, if granted, would cover digital materials, including DVDs, CDs and audio recordings featuring Trayvon. Each trademark application costs $325.

Barack Obama: If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon
Where did Alinsky get this amorality? Clues can be found in a Playboy magazine interview he gave in 1972, just before his death. In the closest thing to a memoir Alinsky left, he told how he decided to do his (never-completed) doctoral dissertation in the 1930s on the Al Capone mob, and to do it as an inside job. He caught the eye of Big Ed Stash, the mobs top executioner, and convinced him he could be trusted as a sort of mob mascot who would interpret its methods to the outside world. He introduced me to Frank Nitti, known as the Enforcer, Capones number-two man, Alinsky told Playboy. Nitti took me under his wing. I called him the Professor and I became his student. Nittis boys took me everywhere.
Alinsky recalled that he learned a hell of a lot about the uses and abuses of power from the mob, and that he applied that knowledge later on, when I was organizing. The Playboy interviewer asked, Didnt you have any compunction about consorting with if not actually assisting murderers? Alinsky replied: None at all, since there was nothing I could do to stop them from murdering. . . . I was a nonparticipating observer in their professional activities, although I joined their social life of food, drink, and women. Boy, I sure participated in that side of things it was heaven. .................
Those groups will take advantage of her.
Though, she may trust those groups more-so.
the parents of the slain youth, are becoming the democrats useful idiots. just like cindy sheehan, they are not smart enough to figure it out. I got yelled at by some woman on facebook that I was on drugs because of what I posted on FB. I blocked her and the newscaster that I had friended because no one deserves that kind of treatment.
“If I had a son...”
is it true?
the Miami Herald is claiming that Trayvon was found on one occassion at school with a screwdriver in knapsack (try that at YOUR school - or any airport for that matter!), along with “12 pieces of jewelry” including wedding rings and diamond earrings that he claimed ‘a friend’ gave him... had been caught ‘defacing lockers’ with grafitti - for which he was suspended... had been suspended more than once...had a record of truancy...
(and, my own observation, had also apparently bought himself a 24kt grille on a $5/wk allowance).
Trayon was shot in a scuffle for the gun, after he was pounding Zimmerman’s head on the ground, after Zimmerman had already stopped following Trayon and had returned to his own vehicle, after Zimmerman was thrown up against Zimmerman’s truck from behind by Trayon, after Trayon bloodied Zimmerman’s nose, and after Trayon knocked Zimmerman to the ground and climbed on top of him whaling at his face and head, according to witnesses. ???
say it ain’t so, Joe, er Zero
This was not a young man that was running away from Zimmerman and was shot cold-blooded in the back. This was a young man who got caught up in the audacity of arrogance and maybe a little racism of his own, maybe even fanned by the so-called “leaders” influencing him, and decided to confront a smaller-statured “white hispanic” (new term for Wiki for sure) with violence —— and he got bit by the snake called open carry.
now what, Zero? your son?
Trayvon was asked if the jewelry belonged to his family or a girlfriend.
Martin replied its not mine. A friend gave it to me, he responded, according to the report. Trayvon declined to name the friend.
Trayvon was not disciplined because of the discovery, but was instead suspended for graffiti, according to the report. School police impounded the jewelry and sent photos of the items to detectives at Miami-Dade police for further investigation.
..... That suspension was followed four months later by another one in February, in which Trayvon was caught with an empty plastic bag with traces of marijuana in it. A schools police report obtained by The Miami Herald specifies two items: a bag with marijuana residue and a marijuana pipe.
The punishment was the third for the teen. On Monday, the family also said Trayvon had earlier been suspended for tardiness and truancy."....
That photo cuts deep.
May need a warning before viewing ..
Is she going to get royalties from the ‘Cracker Tee’ also?
Maybe I should go up on godaddy.com and buy those domain names real quick?
Hmm, I just have to ask:
- How could she do this in the midst of such mourning? And, so quickly??
- Who paid the trademark application fees (I don’t think you can use food stamps)?
- Who paid for the attorney fees (again, not covered under food stamps)?
- Will the Revs Al and Jesse get some (maybe all) of the royalty fees?
Wow! Merchandising off of your son’s death? Unbelievable.
I wonder if Skittles will be calling them for an endorsement?
This is sick. If Zimmerman is cleared in all of this, I wonder what’s going to happen? There will be bodies in the street.
“O ah be sose tone up bout losin’ mah son thit ah goan make me sum MONEY offa it ‘n’ shit....”
Nothing.....nothing.....these slime do can surprise me any more.
Now let me ax you a question: do you think trademarking little (little my arse:6’2) Trayvon’s name is gonna get you more stuff? Poor little innocent traipsing off to his daddy’s girlfriens house. How many brothers and sistern do Trayvon have?
Who broke the neighborhood watch volunteer’s nose? Who beat the back of his head up and down on the sidewalk? Did Trayvon possess some super human strenth that allowed him to do this after he dead?
That Al Sharptin and Jesse Jackson they there to hep you get as much for Trayvon as you possibly can. They there to comfort you and get as much of the face time in front of the cameras that they can.
Dangerous time to be a light-colored dude in Sanford or Orlando now. Stores best be locking up as the mob will come marching in and get their stuff.
Poor little Trayvon? Who he?
Probably Media Matters and George Soros. The usual bums.
I heard someone postulate yesterday this was a preventitive measure to keep others from cashing in on the boy’s death. His image and name are already being widely used.
Appears that greed overtook grief in this disfunctional family.
These clowns hired a PR firm .
These People left the body on the Sanford morgue for three days unclaimed !
At this point I don't see how he could get a fair trial. Most Americans think the kid was 14 just like the picture being flashed every news hour. The power of the media at work like I have never seen. Has Trayvon not had a picture taken in the last three years? Even my wife, who should know better was taken in by the media. I had to show her news printed new stories that said he was 17, for her to believe me.
Now they are trying to trademark his name to get the gibs. Classy indeed.
................”Indeed, if President Obama did have a son he would not look like Aaron Thomas Nemelka, the 19-year old Private First Class who was gunned down along with twelve other soldiers by Major Nidal Malik Hasan at Fort Hood on November 5, 2009. So do Pfc. Nemelka’s parents have any less right to expect that all of us take what happened at Fort Hood with the seriousness it deserves and get to bottom of it? I ask because the bottom fell out when the Obama Administration made no mention of Hasan or what motivated him to gun down his fellow soldiers in its report on the Fort Hood shootings in January 2010. Apparently, the Fort Hood shootings were nothing more than an act of “workplace violence.” In which case, I guess that makes the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were the biggest acts of workplace violence in American history. But it would miss the point entirely.
In retrospect, no one should have been surprised at the Obama Administration’s foregone conclusions. Even as it became known that Hasan had shouted Allahu Akbar and had business cards in his possession bearing the inscription “Soldier of Allah,” the day after the shooting President Obama said, “I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts.” President Obama then proceeded to the real business at hand that day, which was to give an address boasting about a bill he had just signed extending unemployment benefits. There was no time for President Obama call upon the nation to do some “soul searching to figure out how does something like this happen.” The loss of our soldiers at Fort Hood simply didn’t evoke the level of emotion in President Obama that the loss of Trayvon Martin did.
It isn’t to say that one cannot lament the death of a 17-year-old boy with his whole life ahead of him. It also isn’t to say there aren’t questions that must be asked in this case and these questions are currently being asked by both federal and state authorities. But in the event George Zimmerman is charged in connection with Martin’s death, it’s going to be awfully hard to find a jury pool that hasn’t heard Obama say that Martin reminds him of the son he never had and the powerful imagery that conveyed. President Obama has once again fanned the flames of racial tension without knowing for a fact that race is an issue in the first place.
As of now, we don’t know if Zimmerman uttered a racial slur during his 911 call or if race motivated his actions in any way, shape or form. But we do know that Hasan was shouting jihad at the top of his lungs when he murdered Pfc. Nemelka and twelve of his fellow soldiers in cold blood. President Obama’s refusal to acknowledge the truth of what happened at Fort Hood is a grave disservice to Pfc. Nemelka’s family and all the other military families who lost loved ones that day. It is a stain on his presidency and, sadly, it appears another one has begun to take form.”
To the extent that there are a plethora of those willing to clearly label themselves as ignorant, uninformed, racists via wearing of the “Travon” brand, I suppose there is a fortune to be made here.
In both monetary and political capital.
WHy do they only show pictures of Trayvon when he was younger? You are talking a 6’2’’ kid who is likely anything but a weakling pounding on you. And for people who think a fistfight can’t be lethal, I could say that plenty of teen fights have resulted in at least hospitalization, teens have the strength to seriously injure, and possibly even kill somebody.
I’d like to see how any liberal would react when he gets tossed around and punched a bit.
"If you're feelin' down, look at a clown"
Joe Dirt's mother
Sorry, but, I don’t understand your Post #31. Am I missing something?
Joe Dirt: [after finally finding his parents] I - I - I don't mean to interrupt your clown pitch there, but - but how exactly do you not go right back to the place where you saw me? [the news crew goes baffled] Joe's Dad: [sarcastically] Hey! How exactly is a rainbow made? How exactly does a sun set? How exactly does a posi-trac rear-end on a Plymouth work? It just does. [guffaws] Joe's Mom: It just does. Joe Dirt: [sternly] I'm not talking about a posi-trac; I'm talking about me. How long did you look for me before you gave up? How lone were you riding in that car before you realized I wasn't in it? Exactly how long? [a few seconds of silence] Joe's Dad: All right! We didn't lose him; we just left him. So what? The dude's doing fine! Look at him! [guffaws again] Joe's Mom: He look good. Joe Dirt: [tearfully] Why did you do that to me? I was only eight years old - I was just a little kid. Do you have any idea what it's like to be a kid and have nobody around to talk to? No one that cares if you're alive or dead? Every day you just think you're worthless and there's a void in your life? Joe's Mom: [chuckles] Oh, come on, honey. Joe's Dad: Lighten up, buddy. [Joe goes real upset] Joe's Mom: [takes a clown figurine] Lose that frown. When you're down, stare at a clown. [Joe stands up and takes it] Joe's Dad: That's right, boy. Joe's Mom: [hits him] Hey, sit down! Sit down! You're blocking the cameras! The cameras can't see! Joe's Dad: Move over a bit! Joe Dirt: [angrily breaks the clown to the wall] I don't care about that! AND I DON'T CARE ABOUT THIS! Joe's Dad: Hey! What the hell are you doing? [Joe walks up and kicks down a shelf of clowns destroying them all] Joe Dirt: [leaves in tears] And I don't want to see you for another 25 years! Reporter at Parent's House: [leaves with the crew] Joe, wait! Joe's Mom: My God! Oh, my clowns! Look at my clowns! I wish he never found us! Look what he did to my children! Oh, no! Hey! Hey, TV people! Hey, TV people! Joe's Dad: Hey, you're grounded! Where are you all going? Hey, come on! You don't have to follow him just because he's going!
