Onyango Obama — the president’s illegal alien half uncle — is appearing in Framingham District Court this morning in a surprise hearing over his August arrest on suspicion of drunken driving.
Obama, 67, has been waging an aggressive defense against the charges, even going after one arresting officer’s file. It is not clear yet what today’s session is about.

If Obama had a legal Uncle he would look like him.
Maybe he can strike a deal on if he can get a seat closer to the restroom on the deportation plane.

The Uncle is definitely small potatoes. I doubt Obama drives himself anywhere these days, drunk or not.

President Obama’s uncle has surrendered his driving license for 45 days after entering a plea in his drunk-driving charge.
Onyango Obama, 67, admitted to sufficient facts at a hearing today which means he acknowledged that prosecutors have enough evidence to convict him but without pleading guilty.
The illegal immigrant is the half brother of President Obama’s late father. The drunken driving charge will be dismissed if he stays out of trouble for a year, officials said.
Obama was arrested in Framingham in August after a police officer said he made a rolling stop at a stop sign and nearly caused the officer’s cruiser to crash into his sport utility vehicle.
On Tuesday, the judge ordered him to give up his driver’s license for 45 days.
However, he will be allowed to drive to and from his job as the manager of a liquor store in Framingham. Two other traffic violations were dismissed.
‘He felt it was in his best interest to put this behind him,’ said his attorney, P. Scott Bratton.
‘He wants to return to his normal, quiet existence in society.’
Middlesex District Attorney Gerard T. Leone, Jr. told the Boston Herald that Obama has accepted responsibility for the ‘essence’ of the charges.
‘By admitting to sufficient facts today to operating under the influence and failure to yield at an intersection, the defendant has admitted responsibility for the essence of the crime he committed and has now been held accountable for his actions.’
Once pulled over, the DA said Obama’s speech was slurred, ‘his eyes were red and glassy and there was an odor of alcohol coming from inside the motor vehicle.’
Obama then failed several field sobriety tests and his blood alcohol was almost twice over the legal limit, reports the Herald.
Obama, who is from Kenya, is also appealing a deportation order that dates to 1992, when he failed to renew his application to remain in the U.S.
Bratton called it a technical error. He moved here as a teenager in the early 1960s to live with a host family and attend high school.
