Looks like just another facet of the mainstream media’s “Gee aren’t those Mormons weird?” attack on Romney.
The AZ family’s use of the pool is probably one of the most creative ones. If you have to have a hobby, this one sounds like the most fun.
I would say the show is of little assistance to most doomsday preppers as it acutaly has little new material. Rawles book “Patriots” is fairly common in the prepper community along with a number of more trustworth survival guides. In fact, I would venture that most preppers could review the show and tell them what they are doing wrong.
“family who keeps a pool/greenhouse, with chicken above fertilizing a pool that contains quickly regenerating fish. A byproduct, duckweed, purifies the water and generates fertilizer for the vegetable gardens”
Hey, why didn’t I think of that! I’m gonna watch that episode!
This is the left making these folks out to be kooks, by citing their SHTF scenarios.
Finally, one family sounded sane and then proclaimed they didn’t find the need for weapons to defend their little well stocked farm......
Most of these folks are so overweight they have more to worry about death due to poor health, than anything else.
A general infrastructure collapse in this country will see 50% of Americans dead in 6 months. The first months near central cities will be horrific after food runs out as hungry looters will fan out to the surburbs.
Sounds like these folks think that Obamanomics is well on its way to successfully destroying America as we have known it. Hey, that is Obama’s plan isn’t it?
If you’re not prepared, you’re dead already.
Believe it.
If people think that such a scenario is likely (not necessarily saying it isn’t), why don’t they just move to, say, Australia?
Preppers’ PING!
A woman who co-hosts a morning show on a local talk-radio station recently discovered this TV show.
As I recall, her comment was “Where have these guys been all my life?”.
Maybe I’ll have to look it up on Youtube.
Folks need to realize that NatGeo has long been a major ‘house-organ’ of the oligarchy.
Check out their Board of the Directors over the years . . . they are a veritable Who’s Who among the globalists.
Certainly their seductive seeding of globalist values through the journal has been quite faithful to that dark collection of ‘stuff’ from hell.
Nevertheless, I still enjoy the nature programs etc.
I bought a bunch of mid-to-late 1970’s gun magazines a while back and there was a column in them by a “prepper” way back then. In reading them, not much has changed in the past 30-35 years.
This is why I started to watch. I no longer do. I found nothing useful in any episode. And I am not entertained by lunatic fringe idiots who spend $300,000 to protect themselves against solar flares.
There is another show about bunkers and a bunker builder. Those are good too. As for the preppers show; some of them are doing what they can, others are clueless. The hippies they put one were doing good right up until the point they professed their trust in the goodness of their fellow man. The looniest was the girl in Houston who has a good size stash of stuff in her apartment, but her bugout plan involves walking out of Houston to the south.
IMO- anyone that would display to the world what their preparations are is plain stupid. If SHTF does become reality, everyone in their neighborhood will come by with their hands out, unless government goons don't appropriate everything "for the common good" beforehand.
