Brit Hume v. Sarah Palin
COMMENTARY ^ | March 28, 2012 | Peter Wehner

Posted on 03/27/2012 4:24:11 PM PDT by RobinMasters

Rick Santorum’s profanity-laced outburst at Jeff Zeleny of the New York Times has elicited a fair amount of comment in the political world, as one might imagine – including among Fox News analysts. If you’d like to hear two very different interpretations of Senator Santorum’s reaction, you can watch Brit Hume here and Sarah Palin here.

Hume wasn’t harsh in his critique of Santorum, saying he was probably “fatigued” and showed “some exasperation,” but added that Zeleny is a “reasonable guy” who asked a legitimate question and would have taken Santorum at his word when it came to a clarification. Palin, on the other hand, said this:

Santorum’s response to that liberal-leftist, in-the-tank for Obama press character really revealed some of Rick Santorum’s character. And it was good and it was strong and it was about time because he’s saying enough is enough of the liberal media twisting a conservative’s words, putting words in his mouth, taking things out of context and even just making things up. So when I heard Rick Santorum’s response, I was like ‘Well, welcome to my world Rick’ and ‘Good on ya.’ Don’t retreat. You are saying “enough is enough. I was that glad he called out this reporter. He and the other candidates all of them need to do more of this. Because believe me the American people are tired of what that leftist media continue to do to conservatives.

**** brit hume. He is a just another journolista.

And you are a complete non-thinking idiot. You better get a BIG bus to throw all the supposed conservative traitors under.

Better yet. Let's change the name of this site to: "TRUE" CONSERVATIVES WILL FEEL MORALLY SUPERIOR WHEN THE KENYAN COMMUNIST WINS.

If you think that brit hume is a conservative... you need to rethink using the word “idiot”.

That was quite revealing. I knew Hume’s son committed suicide but didn’t know he was gay or the reason for the suicide.

“He rarely engages his brain before he shoots off his mouth”

I think the “He” you are referring to is Gingrich like seeking will-o-the-wisp ideas of “permanent moon-based colonies within eight years.”

The Gawker piece is one of the nastiest pieces of unsourced innuendo I've ever come across. Take this (if you can stomach it:)

the Miami Herald's Marc Caputo has rehashed the "imbroglia" [sic] in a blog post, shining more light on the rumor (though without any reporting) than it has seen in more than a decade.

What that means is Caputo -- with no new facts to report -- engages in wild and malicious speculation. How does one "shed new light" without new facts? It's pure BS.

I’m sorry. I was on another thread a few weeks back. Everyone was talking about Brit’s son.....It sounded like their was no question about the truth of it. I’m ashamed to say I thought it was common knowledge and the truth so I just passed it on. I’m a Christian and should not have done that. Someone just told me it was only internet rumors. I can’t erase what I said, I can only say, I’m sorry.

This stems from the unfortunate suicide of his son who was gay.

Actually his son was homosexual.

If he had been "gay" he would not have committed suicide.

I started lurking here in March 1998 and remember reading suspicions back then about Sandy Hume possibly being gay as a reason for his suicide. I don’t know the truth, but the drinking problem sounds like an adequate explanation.

Hume is perpetually in a gun fight with a short, dull knife.

I have no idea if he was homosexual or not, but I do recall seeing Sandy Hume and his father sharing a stage in a CSPAN broadcast prior to his death. I found it in their archives, if anyone is interested. It took place a couple of months before his suicide. Sandy looks pretty grounded to me.

What a load of crap!

BS is not profanity. It’s a term used by millions everyday.

Brit Hume has been really ‘squirrly’ in his analysis segments as a ‘contributor’ on FNC, after his retirement. He seems to be a different person. He’s lost some of my respect for him over the last year or so.

It’s not that she’s wrong about the reporter or that Santorum waws right to call him out. I agree with her on that much.

No, Santorum and Palin were wrong on the facts in this case. The reporter was not "twisting his words." Santorum probably forgot what he had said.

Romney is a pretty miserable candidate. Santorum could have answered the question with plentiful examples of Romney's flips.

video of santorum saying "the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama. Period.
