States ask court to overturn Arizona immigration law
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | March 27, 2012 | Bob Egelko

Attorney General Kalama Harris has joined officials from 10 other states in asking the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Arizona's immigration law, saying the law exceeds state authority, conflicts with national policy and would drive illegal immigrants into other states.

What is there interest in Arizona’s law? You’d think they would like it as it drives more illegals to them.

Question for Attorney General Kalama Harris, What does Arizona Law have to do with California? No Standing is the response I have heard too often and here is where it is true.

Attorney General Kalama Harris and the other 10 scumbags can “ask” the Supreme Court whatever they want, but that’s not the way it works. The Supreme Court isn’t there to make laws or change laws or render opinions about whether or not they like any particular law. They are there to assure that the US Constitution is not violated.

Lemme guess - - every one of these sick scumbags who want the Supreme Court to strike down a legitimately passed law is a rat?

The laboratories of democracy have become the stomping grounds for socialists. National Socialists are on the march to eliminate state/individual sovereignty.

That’s absurd, the world is upside down when a state cannot verify if a person is a citizen of this country. National policy seems to be that they violate the laws by entering illegally and beyond the thin line of border patrol agents..we are supposed to do nothing? The Court compells you to render health care and provide education as well as provide entitlements. So even if you can point to neighborhoods where the miillions of illegals have residency..we can’t act because a portion of this country can’t pass amnesty measures through the legislative process.

If those states don’t want that problem, pass laws similar to Arizona’s and presto, no problem.

As long as people like AG Harris can live in their high ivory towers with armed security, away from those smelly little people, they’re more than happy to have illegal immigrants.

My thoughts as well.

Illegals leaving AZ for CA should fit in nicely as CA embraces "undocumented migrant workers" in every CA sanctuary city throughout the state.

Is CA now crying "foul" admitting the state is being overrun by illegal aliens demanding state resources without paying enough in taxes to support their costs?

Heard the SF story today. Illegal gets out of jail and kills 5. No deportation, nothing. Sanctuary Francisco. These people have no moral authority to tell anyone how to deal with illegals.

Harris is the Rat Attorney General for CA. Her husband, Tony West, just got a cushy job inside DOJ. Obama wants to put her on the SCOTUS. Scumbags.

I guess it is getting too tough to mooch in Arizona (or they have taken a dislike to Sheriff Joe). Californicate or New York, or some other sanctuary state would seem to be a good bet if you are illegal and want to mooch. It is way beyond the intellectual capacity of those states to enforce their own laws ... just try to drag everyone down to their level.

Here’s an idea, if you can’t beat them, join them. It would be easier in the long run to follow AZ’s example and enact similar legislation. But then again, the Lear Jet liberals in those states would have a tougher time finding cheap help at the local Home Depot to maintain their ivory towers.

Sounds to me like California is acknowledging that the AZ law works wonders.

The feds have declined to enforce the nation's immigration laws. Seems to me the states have every right under the 10th Amendment to do that for themselves.

Some lawyer will have to explain to me how states can challenge the law of another state, which is none of their business. I thought that to bring a case to court one needed “standing.”
