Prickly City -- today's strip
GoComics ^ | March 28 | Scott Stantis

Perhaps this doesn't belong in breaking news, and I don't know how to post the strip itself -- or even if it's allowed, but I think we all need to see this one.

This was not intended to be funny. The author is serious.

Got a working link? I got Garfield, and then an ad for myspace.

That link worked for me twice. Just go to the site and click Prickly City. Or maybe some smarter soul can help fix this.

I think it’s a reference to the Ubanga regime declaring it’s okay to use drones to kill American “citizens” who are working overseas with terrorists. I guess terrorists drive around in little Volkswagons? Anyway, that’s the only thing I can think of where I agree with Ubanga.

Missing the point. It was a direct reference to “Post-Constitutional America” and that. Those are not the kind of words that show up in comic strips.

Maybe me. I need to loosen my tinfoil. It’s just that so much has been written in such a serious vane in the last week or so. To see it popping up in comics was a surprise.

pResident Barry O ignores/tramples the constitution—TRUE.

Some troll spawned in the US of A who spends a lifetime in the Mideast fighting the US STILL considered a “citizen”—FALSE.

There, that helps?

I’m not familiar with this comic. Is it usually political?

Yes, it is political - usually with a conservative edge.

You’d have to have been following it for a while to get the joke entirely. This is the end of a long thread that has Kevin (the lost bunny of the apocalypse) running for president in Guam and bringing back to CONUS some king of destructive beetle to work his campaign. See what I mean? Confusing...

Oh, I see. You were talking about the “point” of the thread itself, whereas I was trying to explain the cartoon to a poster who said he didn’t “get it”. You’re right though - - it’s pretty bad when even a comic strip character off-handedly uses the phrase “post-Constitutional America”. Old strips like ‘Pogo’ and ‘Bloom County’ were known to lampoon politicians in similar fashion.
