Barack Obama’s grovelling before the Russians is an embarrassment
Telegraph ^ | Nile Gardiner

Posted on 03/28/2012 4:26:38 AM PDT by nuconvert

Ronald Reagan, together with Margaret Thatcher, stood up to Moscow, and brought the Soviet Empire to its knees. In contrast, Barack Obama has gone on his knees to grovel before the Russians. The exchange between President Obama and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev in Seoul was a display of supplication before a major strategic adversary on an issue of great importance for US national security – missile defence.

-excerpt-

Barack Obama’s comments are disturbing on several levels. First, they display a willingness to placate America’s enemies, and cede ground over issues of national interest. Second, Obama is linking foreign policy decision-making to the timetable of the US presidential election, openly telling the Russians that he will deliver when he is no longer constrained by seeking re-election. This demonstrates contempt for the American people, suggesting that what he tells the Russians may be completely different to his message at home. Third, they reveal a dismissive approach towards America’s friends in eastern and central Europe, as well as US allies in the Gulf states, who must be wondering now if they will be sold out next.

-excerpt-

The Gipper was a titan on the world stage, feared by America's enemies. In marked contrast, the current President has all too often humbled his own nation before the world.

That will be the Malcom X moment

Another thing this tells us is 7) If I win in November things will be a lot easier for you and me to attain our common goals because I will be unimpeded by the will of my constituents.

For the record:

Obama’s New START Treaty with the Russian Federation reduce deployed US nuclear warheads by 70% - from 5600 under Bush to 1600 under New START, (nearest hundred).

Obama initiative - not a Bush carryover.

Ratified with 70+ votes in the Senate in 2011.

Obama has since publically proclaimed a desire to reduce REMAINING nukes by 80%.

Who will stop the new Islamic caliphate and our fraternal socialist brothers from worldwide aggression when we are no longer a nuclear power?

I was just about to post the same thing.

Russian media expose Obama birth 'forgery'

This is an issue Putin and the old KGB could use to blackmail him throughout almost all of his second term.

I do not understand what criteria Obama uses to determine which countries he respects and which countries he has personal animosity toward.

I think Dinesh D'Souza nails it in "The Roots of Obama's Rage". Obama views the world through the eyes of an anti-colonial marxist (like his father).

He seeks to level the playing field, and to punish and weaken former white European colonial powers.

Once again, Hussein shows his true colors and they aren’t red, white, and blue.

Remember, the man he described in “his” book as his mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, was a card-carrying Communist.

There are a lot of people who don’t have internet or cable, who have no idea that this stuff is going on.

I know a lot of people who would be outraged if they knew 1/10th, or 1/100th of the truth about Obama, but they are not going to hear it on the nightly news.

How can we reach those people?

If we’re going to be activists to get the truth out, where do we get it out to?

Put up posters at gas pumps, grocery stores, laundries...

Any other ideas?

to me the most reasonable conclusion is becoming that he had some informal contact with kgb or related parties in college, and has ever since.

He had several hours alone in siberia when he was held up for ‘passport issues.’ At the time I heard of this, it sounded suspiciously like a debriefing.

He gave russia their preferred date for nixing the poland missile defense deal, the date of the soviet invasion of poland.

Russia does nothing to embarrass him, ever.

He is actively working to decimate the nuclear arsenal and apparently kill missile defense before leaving office.

“Anyone remember when Soetoro was a representative and went with other Congressmen to Russia and the plane was delayed for hours on the Russian tarmac due to ‘someone’s’ passport problems? Seems Russia was proactive on getting down to the truth and possibly holding this over him?”

debriefing, he would have possibly had kgb contacts going back to college years.

Didn’t Teddy Kennedy contact the Soviets trying to influence a Presidential election? Was that in 1980 or a different election?

In fact Obama and Lugar were detained in Perm (not a Siberia but Western Urals) over a case of alleged kickback scheme with Russian nuke officials under a US financed program for dismantling former-Soviet derelict warheads.
They also used USAF aircraft illegally in that area. I think an idea was they were businessmen negotiating something with a head of local nuke facility. KGB searched USAF plane and their baggage, confiscated some documents they got at facility to learn if it could be classified. After agents verified their status to learn Obama and Lugar are actually immune US officials they have released both along with aircrew.
