Former President George H. W. Bush will formally endorse Mitt Romney on Thursday in Houston, Texas.
The endorsement comes a week after the former presidents son, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) endorsed Romney. Former first lady Barbara Bush has also endorsed Romney.
In December of 2011 the elder President Bush indicated support for Romney, saying that Romney is the best choice for us.
The endorsements by most members of the Bush family suggest mainstream Republican heavyweights want the Republican primary to effectively end and for the party to rally around Romney.
In his endorsement, Gov. Bush urged the party to unite around Romney.
Primary elections have been held in 34 states, and now is the time for Republicans to unite behind Gov. Romney and take our message of fiscal conservatism and job creation to all voters this fall, the Florida governor said in his endorsement.
The only surprise here is that he isn’t waiting a little longer.
Who is Milt?
I might vote for him if I have to, but I will never unite behind him or Obama the man he was cloned from.
“Read my lips. Vote for Romney.”
Not that I care, but I thought he already did months ago.
You know, Milton Berle.
Read my lips: No new RINOS!
One Republican establishment man endorsing another Republican establishment man is hardly news and with Bush's abysmal approval numbers during his last few years in office (thanks in part to 24/7 media Bush-bashing) I hardly think Romney will get much from this predetermined endorsement.
What took you so long, Poppy? You and Myth are cut from the same cloth...
Isn’t this like endorsing Captain Crunch as the foremost seaworthy breakfast cereal mascot?
Just one more reason for folks not to vote for the GOP-e backed RINO.
Well then, "game over"..../s
G H W Bush....I’ll be voting for Mitt if he is the nominee, but I’ll be holding my nose with him.
How many times are they going to endorse the liberal? Months ago they had their photo op. They must think they have weigh with conservatives. Hey Barbara, Sarah maybe in TX soon. Say it to her face - tell her to go home to Alaska.
The GOP E hates conservatism - so they can take their endorsement and shove it up mitt’s liberal agenda.
You have more acceptance of a bad mistake than I have.
How many time I tell you Freepers stay out da Bushes ROFL
Bad Freeper bad LOL!
NAUGHTY NAUGHTY LOL!
They endorse him a few months back, also. Didn't work so good, now they are hammering it away in case someone miss it. LOL! They are so important, you know.
Boy, who saw this coming..../sarcasm tag
