Who is the Route 29 Batman? This guy.
The Washington Post ^ | 03/28/2012 | Michael S. Rosenwald

Posted on 03/28/2012 3:17:07 PM PDT by MinorityRepublican

Police pulled a man over on Route 29 in Silver Spring last week because of a problem with his plates. This would not ordinarily make international news, but the car was a black Lamborghini, the license plate was the Batman symbol, and the driver was Batman, dressed head-to-toe in full superhero regalia.

HOLY MOVING VIOLATION!

It didn’t take long before images of the Dark Knight’s encounter with law enforcement began turning up everywhere from the Washington Post to CNN to the London tabloids.

Jokers emerged instantaneously too. “Let him do his job,” one commenter urged on the Post Web site. “Batman has expensive taste,” noted another. Meanwhile, questions about Batman’s identity mounted: “Did they make him take off his mask?” someone asked.

No, they did not. Even Montgomery County police honor a superhero code of conduct, just like the Howard County officers who once helped him with a flat bat tire. Batman told officers his real name was not Bruce Wayne but Lenny B. Robinson, and that his real tags were in the car. (He was not ticketed then, but has been before for a heavy bat foot.)

The Caped Crusader is a businessman from Baltimore County who visits sick children in hospitals, handing out Batman paraphernalia to up-and-coming superheros who first need to beat cancer and other wretched diseases.

I actually know Batman. His parents are dear friends of my wife’s family, and I see him at holiday dinners where my 4-year-old son believes he is the real-life Bruce Wayne. “Daddy, he’s Batman, too,” my son will whisper to me. Though Batman has long been aware that I’m a journalist, he has never suggested I write about him. He does not crave publicity. Like his comic book namesake, he doesn’t seek credit for what he does.

Batmobile or Kitt from Knightrider? Which car is cooler?

“Batman has expensive taste,” noted another.

I guess the Marxist who made this comment isn't aware that Batman is actually Bruce Wayne and is well off. The bat mobile wasn't a rusted out Chevy II with a rod knock.

BTW, good for this dude. It is nice to see people out there trying to make a difference for kids in difficult situations.

Batmobile > Kitt.

Kitt was a pansy.

Batmobile.

Although, I’d like to hear Kitt’s reaction when I tell him to take command while I huff glue.

Is he the Batman who can only speak in a growl?

Does he have any friends who can make a pencil disappear?

Say what you will, but no Robin, no Batman so it must have been a phony.

However, I did see a searchlight beam over yonder, in the direction of Gotham City.

Doesn't look like he runs in the same circles as Barney Frank.

Great story, btw. I think I'd stick with the Lambo though rather than getting a replica of the Batmobile built. Batman's gotta get into the 21st century too!

Which car is cooler?

Which Batmobile?

Personally, I like George Barris Batmobile from the 60's series, and the newest model from Batman Begins.

Are you kidding? You’re calling John Adams a homosexual (that’s what you mean; metro- is really just a word for dandies who care that they look nice)?

Watch 1776 and see if you make a comment like that again!

Batmobile for sure. I’ve owned more than one! lol

My first was a 1965 Pontiac Catalina, two door, black, V-8. The AC in the car could serve as a meat cooler.

The width was so big you could lie down in the front and back seats and sleep like a bed (well, if you are only 5’9” like me).

I had a huge bat decal in the back window like the one this dude has in his drive.

Today I drive a 2007 PT Cruiser, charcoal gray, and still have a batman decal on the back.

I’m 52 and I’ve been called ‘Batman’ since I was 15.

<EXTREME NERD MOMENT>

Technically Batman is a costumed vigilante not a superhero, he's physically normal, no super powers.

OK, you’re an idiot. Thanks for clearing it up.

Watch any Knight Rider and the dialog spoken by “Kitt” is campy and has a femme sound to it. I mad no personal comment about the actual actor himself being gay.

So lighten up jerkwad.

Geess, who needs to lighten up? Uncalled for, especially since I’ve “seen” you many times in FR threads and I’m sure you’ve “seen” me here. We’ve never had a quarrel to my recall.

Kitt sounds exactly like the actor voicing him, William Daniels, who was a sensational John Adams and also on St. Elsewhere at the time. I think he sounded OK.

Batmobile doesn’t have any voice, so I guess it’s kind of apples & oranges. IMO.
