US: Debris from NKorea rocket risks casualties
WASHINGTON (AP) — A senior U.S. military official says debris from a planned North Korean rocket launch could cause casualties.
Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense Peter Lavoy told a congressional hearing Wednesday that North Korea has indicated the rocket will be launched southward, but the U.S. lacks confidence about the rocket's stability and where the impact will be.

We should get a ship in international waters (12 nautical miles, maybe a little further) just off northwest DPRK, just off the Pyongsan Peninsula where the site is, and JAM the crap out of their telemetry and missile guidance electronics, and fry or corrupt their internal communications/wireles data networks, if possible. Do it from airborne platforms if necessary or possible as well. We have a good time window of when they will launch this nuke missile test masquerading as a “satellite launch” (sic). I happen to believe this Taepodong ICBM can in fact be comprised and damaged.
One could only hope it went off course and crashed down on PRC territories or islands somewhere. I would not wish civilian deaths as a result, but some good damage of Chinese infrastructure, not to mention the sense of being territorially violated which the RedChinks dont particularly like, would be most welcome to get a DPRK-PRC pissing match going here for good, and put Kim Jong Un clearly on their shitlist.

Hey, for any of these chicks, I wonder if there are any openings for new "kipmujo" entertainment girls in Pyongyang, you know the ones that come in at the conclusion of the party for the more hard core "service" for the drunken DPRK comrades.
Any intel ships put in there had better be able to maneuver out of the way rapidly. I'd escort them with a CG or DDG equipped with SM-2s and SM-3s just in case the {expletive} thing looks like it is going to come down on them. Might as well try to break it up into smaller, less-lethal/damaging pieces...
Perhaps someone could paint a large bulls eye on Nancy Pelosi’s house in San Fransisco and send taunting pictures to the North Koreans saying... bet you can’t hit this.
It is unstable, though their stability, accuracy and distance in the last launch was rather impressive, and the liftoff footage was nothing to laugh about. Having said that, if it comes down on some South Korean island and kills villagers, you can expect war in the following 2-3 hours.
Would have been a good test and the North Koreans couldn't prove a thing when their missile exploded in mid flight.

I came away with the impression that Kim Jong Il himself made the decision to launch the satellite to commemorate Kim Il Sung’s birthday. North Korea may be between a rocket and hard place — there is no way to countermand the order of the late Dear Leader himself, but for some reason they also want to salvage the deal.
Having the Europeans or Russia put the satellite into orbit for the North Koreans is the only face-saving way out for all parties concerned. Unfortunately, if the Dear(ly Departed) Leader approved the launch, then any deviation is probably impossible and, in any event, neither the Europeans or the Russians could get the satellite up in time for Kim Il Sung’s birthday.
