I have been struck by three observations in the past 24 hours:

1) The MSM wants to BURY SCOTUS discussion of Obamacare. Estrich was on with Hannity yesterday and she will always be a partisan hack. She made the comment twice that SCOTUS needs to yield to Congress on this matter. She actually said that normally, she is FOR Judicial Activism, but not in THIS case. Hmmm. Wonder why?

2) Trayvon Martin case is a complete manipulation of the MSM to place stories of racism front and center, even though similar cases of racism AGAINST whites are buried. Have another story in Ohio which is also catching fire right now. Which brings me to point 3.

3) Hannity made a comment yesterday that just cannot be true. He declared amazement how some stories catch on nationally and some don’t. Really? Hannity has been PART of media for how long and he doesn’t get this? It just does not make sense that someone as close to the media as Sean doesn’t get it. The media DRIVES most of the social discussions in this country by which stories it chooses to or not to promote.

It was a great show. I need to win the lottery so I can follow them around the country. There was a moment that brought a broad smile to my grouchy face. They did "Sweet Emmotion" and she sang the line "You can't catch me 'cause the rabbit done died." It was priceless. She invited three young girls to join her on stage for "American Honey." That was one of those Awwwwww, that's so cute moments. Needless to say, the event was sold out.

We were sitting almost under the speakers hanging from the ceiling. Loved it!

Touring with them is Darius Rucker. I don't know a lot of the names of people in the music business. This was a country music show, but Rucker seemed to lean to a few Hootie and the Blowfish songs. Well DUH, he used to be the lead singer for them. (As I found out later)

They waited to do that last as their "encore" song. I can understand how emotionally hard hitting that song is to those who have a loved one thousands of miles and months away from home.

I bought the tickets more for my wife than for me. But, having gone, I would go again in a heartbeat. They are playing in Sacramento tonight, and I wish I could go to that one too!

I’ve heard them on SNL and maybe one of the late night talk shows. I’m not a country music fan so...

My wife is a new country music fan though so she may even have them on her iPod.

I like only a small amount of country music, being more of a rock fan. I think you and your wife would really enjoy one of their concerts. So, being ever helpful, here is their upcoming schedule.

Rush making the point now that occurred to me all through the last 3 days - there’s nothing new here. No argument that hasn’t been discussed on FR and everywhere else for the past 2+ years. It’s hilarious now that the incompetence and political hackery of Pelosi et all is no being mocked in the highest court of the land. “Wizards of Smart”, indeed...

Can't be a wound Clint. Zimmerman is a white Hispanic, they all lie you know. The only good Hispanic is a dark hispanic except for female white Hispanics who are a wise latina who does not have to recuse herself. It's hard to get with the DBM playbook since it changes so often.

It’s fun to contemplate that. But, IMO, Scalia and Roberts are not men who would retaliate against a President. If what is being considered Constitutional they will uphold it regardless of their opinion of the President.

Maybe a payback for the State of Union Speech?

I can't believe that anybody on The Court (with the exclusion of The 0's pets and appointees) would lower themselves to that level.

Payback?

For a subjuvenile Cook County ward heeler's attempt at intimidation?

The only thing matching the character of that crap would have been if the entire Court had flipped Zero the bird.

This decision, OTOH, is simply a case of judicial review of a great big steaming pile of BS, and the only people on that court that will support it have been bought and paid for to claim that it's rosebuds.

Payback doesn't have a thing to do with it.

....until we get to deliver some in November.

Not trying to turn this into a Lady Antebellum thread, but a few last comments. As I watched and listened, it was obvious that these people were at the top of their game professionally. It takes a lot of time, work, and a little luck to be a top performing group, and more time, work, and some luck to STAY there. Rational people in that situation would do everything they could to stay there as long as humanly possible, because the end will come eventually.

My thoughts turned briefly to the Dixie Chicks. They would still be performing and earning lots of money, and would be a huge draw, but they aren't. And all because they forgot that they were performers, not political pundits. They threw away a hugely rewarding career - for nothing.

LOL!

I actually didn’t have any to drink. We went there because our old boss gave us each a gift certificate there for Christmas, and we never got around to redeeming it until now. I just picked out two random bottles to take home.

We ate at Red Robin. Yumm.

ROFL! As I told AQ, we really didn’t have anything to drink there (except one brave woman, who insisted on tasting). She had to resort to highly flavored gum afterward.

"Unfortunately, being Hispanic does not mean that you aren't capable of bigotry or discrimination," Navarette said. "It does not condone or preclude him (Zimmerman) from having acted in a discriminatory manner."

You're not being very helpful here Navarette.

http://www.cnn.com/2012/03/28/politics/florida-teen-hispanics/index.html?section=cnn_latest

So basically, is Navarette saying that in a confrontation between a black male, and a hispanic male, that the hispanic male's life is of no value if the black male is supported by the Black Panthers?

Oh, good, Rush is explaining severability. This is a new take on it to me. Would Congress have enacted the bill without the individual mandate? I think the Dems took out the clause because they knew Obamacare would never work without it. I’ll bet they never thought it would become the defining issue of the program.

Because they knew they wouldn't be able to make the program work without guaranteed, forced funding from the taxpayers, right?

The letter of the law depends on the alphabet you use...lol and so true...especially if you use Critical Alphabet Theory...

So...Black trumps all? But what if Zimmerman was disabled in some way...would that “up”’Zimmerman’s status? Can he come out as gay and/or transgendered...would that help? Maybe convert to Islam...
