Romney tells a ‘humorous' tale about how his dad laid off workers
The Examiner ^ | 3/29/12 | Ryan Witt

Some people tell knock, knock jokes, other like to recall funny movie lines. Today, Mitt Romney told a “joke” to voters about how his father closed a factory in Michigan and then tried to hide it from voters. Romney narrated what he described as a “humorous” tale in a conference call with Wisconsin voters. The full story, as transcribed by the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, can be read below,

“One of most humorous I think relates to my father. You may remember my father, George Romney, was president of an automobile company called American Motors … They had a factory in Michigan, and they had a factory in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and another one in Milwaukee, Wisconsin,” said Romney. “And as the president of the company he decided to close the factory in Michigan and move all the production to Wisconsin. Now later he decided to run for governor of Michigan and so you can imagine that having closed the factory and moved all the production to Wisconsin was a very sensitive issue to him, for his campaign.”

The reporter goes on to describe how Romney was “laughing” while telling the story.

I don’t think he’s a radical black separatist communist muslim at all.

However, he is a blithering doofus of a politician who, if nominated, will likely guarantee Obama a second term.

Oops, Romney slips up and shows who he really is, more of
his true character coming to light.

It’s happening more and more, I think it is God making
evident what is truly going on and we see it in other ways this week, the leftists, liberal’s intentions are no good.

It is an answer to prayer. Keep praying, the nomination, the
election, they aren’t decided yet.

It’s indicative of the out-of-touch world these people live in.

You can bet obama & Crew have this safely tucked away and will play it for all its worth in Michigan, et al.

A very funny story it sounds like.

There were probably some humorous stories of laid of workers packing up and moving also.

Maybe some strapped their dog to the top of the car as they left their homes the final time?

That Mitt is really a wild and crazy guy.

“So THAT’S a Matador!”

It’s amazing they survived for so long.

I don’t know how smart he is. I do know he’s very wealthy. I also know this guy has the worst political instincts I have ever seen.

Read the article, Axelrod’s already tweeting it.

Romney is an incredibly self-centered individual. It would be impossible for him to have succeeded in the kind of corporate chop-shop business he was in if he wasn’t very self-centered and indifferent to other people’s feelings. He has the emotional makeup of a classic socialist that views people as units and thinks he is smart enough to run a system where they function as mere cogs. If the numbers look good on paper, he’s happy. He couldn’t care less about how the people actually feel about things.

Remember when Obama complained about the price of arugula at Whole Foods? He and Romney are equally out of touch.

We're doomed.

Bush put the nail in the coffin of the Reagan Revolution and Romney will throw the dirt on the grave.

A Romney election would be the presidency Ted Kennedy never got to have.

ObamaCare is the worst legislation to be passed in the history of the country that led to a solid drubbing of Dems in 2010.

So, who do the RINO establishment people support?

Mitt Romney of RomneyCare.

Un-freakin-believable!

I can’t support Paul either. He’s a truther who agrees too much with the Occutards.

Also, it appears that Paul and Romney have been working together to help Romney seal the nomination.

I just can’t trust Paul. Something about him creeps me out. Too many things in his past send up red flags to me.

That is a keeper!

So the question is, how much of a drop in gas prices will insure another 4 years of hussein? I figure about 25¢.

I had an AMC Javilin at one time. Odd but cool looking car. It was fast as hell. I blew the engine in it racing it against other hot rods on the street.

That is one car I was rather fond of. Most AMC cars sucked.

He's made other blunders too. Everyone in media is saying he's the only one who can beat Obama?

IMO-he has a lot of negatives-Rommneycare, exc..that Obama and co. can use against him.

While I've heard him say he'll repeal Obamacare if elected-other times he changes the words around a bit-"as much as I can". What does that mean?

I'm just afraid that he's going to turn into Mc Cain if he gets nominated-"we have nothing to fear if we re-elect Obama"; then bumble and stumble his way into a loss in the election.

The Obama team has already set this election up as the 99% vs 1%. How is Rommney going to overcome being portrayed by the left and MSM as the cold hearted 1%?

I saw Javelin on the streets a few weeks ago and concluded it was a pretty nice-looking car.

I always liked the AMX. It looked nice and was fast.

Remember the Scramblers? Ugly as hell - a Rambler with a hoodscoop and the red, white, and blue paint job. In a straight line, they were rockets.

Read the article, Axelrod’s already tweeting it.

I was thinking more of during the election campaign. Tweeting it now gets them nothing, given the attention span of the Left. Different story one month before election as it will be a "timely reminder" at how hard-hearted the GOP is.
