Parole Board agrees to free three ‘lifers’

A deadly armed robber once facing the death penalty, a Dorchester appliance store owner’s killer and a man who did nothing to stop a friend from pumping a Springfield resident full of bullets are the first three “lifers” to be set free since the state Parole Board was revamped by Gov. Deval Patrick following the Dec. 26, 2010, murder of Woburn Police Officer John “Jack” Maguire by a career felon paroled despite serving three life sentences.

After 13 consecutive denials of parole applications, the board announced today it will release Vernon Miller, Benley Thompson and Raborn Allah on April 9. The decisions to release Thompson and Allah were unanimous.

Miller, whose 1972 first-degree murder sentence was commuted in 1986 by former Gov. Michael S. Dukakis to 22 years to life, was approved by a vote of 6-1.

Thompson, a cocaine addict, shot Dorchester appliance store owner Herbert Krous to death on Jan. 4, 1985. Thompson pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and armed robbery.

Allah pleaded guilty to being a joint venturer in the March 5, 1974, murder of George Greer of Springfield. Allah was armed, but according to the board it was a co-defendant who chased Greer down “and shot him multiple times.”

How long now until one of these three is arraigned on another murder?

There are going to be more than three. Oregon is setting up the same type of releases.

Probably not immediately: they want to vote for President Food Stamps this November.

They forgot to mention that *our* Community Organizer-In-Chief,Coupe Deval, has issued an apology to all three for the injustices they've suffered during their stints at Walpole.

The left is strengthening its forces in preparation for the big event... this summer’s planned race riots. We’re going to see something soon which will make the 1968 Detroit riots look like a picnic.

Yes, it does feel like there is an unspoken "meme" surging through the air.

All of the race pimps are making waves at the same time on different fronts.

I am really glad I don't live in an urban area. I gots me a feelin' bad chit is gonna rain down soon on the Cities.

If you live there beware.

In December I moved from my sleepy little beachfront home an hour's ferry ride west of Seattle to right in the heart of Hollywood, CA. Had no choice... had to come deal with my mother-in-law's estate here in L.A.

I'm not sure you can blame the GOP for 2010.After all,Coupe Deval & Friends *were* able to talk Cahill into pretending to leave the Rat Party and to run to the right of Coupe Deval.Don't you remember the day that half of Cahill's staff quit because they realized that he was an empty suit (or worse,a shill) and Coupe *admitted* on TV that he called Cahill and encouraged him to "hang in there"?

If there was a *real* Attorney General in either Boston *or* DC Coupe Deval and his top people would have been under indictment for election fraud.

And the truly hysterical thing is that rather than get a judgeship or Registrar of Motor Vehicles (as I'm sure he was promised at the outset) he got INDICTED.That should show everybody just what the Obama/Patrick clique is capable of.

I can’t argue ANY of those points, but the GOP didn’t do itself any favors with Charlie Baker and Little Richie at the top of the ticket either.....

Looks like we are going to relive the twisted 60’s and 70’s. Mass. deserves it.
