Dear Friend of Israel,
Today, at the daily State Department press briefing, official State Department spokesman Victoria Nuland repeatedly refused to state that the Obama Administration recognizes Jerusalem a the Capital of of the State of Israel.
In answer to the question: "Is it the view of the United States that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, notwithstanding the question about the embassy - the location of the U.S. embassy?
Nuland said, "We are not going to prejudge the outcome of those negotiations, including the final status of Jerusalem."
In other words, all of Jerusalem is up for grabs in the eyes of the Obama Administration.
And she refused to answer the question over and over again.
We have predicted that Jerusalem is in unprecedented danger at this time. This is proof.

It’s not listed as the capitol on any PLO map so why should the mooslime-in-chief call it as such.
For the moment, Obama will not order B-2s on a bombing raid against Israel, but after the election he will have more flexibility.
The release now states: “Acting Under Secretary Kathleen Stephens Travels to Algiers, Doha, Amman, Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv.” In a previous iteration of the release, the State Department separated Jerusalem from Israel.
An official State Department communication has labeled Jerusalem and Israel as separate entities.
In an official press release yesterday, the State Department announced that “Acting Under Secretary Kathleen Stephens Travels to Algeria, Qatar, Jordan, Jerusalem, and Israel.”
Keeping up with its longstanding policy, the State Department refuses to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s official capital—despite a U.S. law stating otherwise. Obama faced criticism on the issue last year, when it was revealed that the White House had scrubbed all references to Jerusalem being part of the Jewish state from a collection of photos on its website.
Obama has also been lambasted by pro-Israel leaders and some on Capitol Hill for capitulating to pressure from the State Department, which has long opposed U.S. law on the matter.
A senior GOP aide condemned the State Department’s recent press release as unsound foreign policy.
“Once again, President Obama’s administration reminds Jewish voters why he cannot be trusted when it comes to Israel’s security,” said the source. “He doesn’t think Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Is it its own sovereign nation?”
The GOP source also chided Obama for continuing to buck U.S. law on the issue.
“Under U.S. law, Jerusalem is recognized as the undivided capital of Israel—period,” said the adviser. “Unlike the U.S. embassy’s move, that fact is not subject to any waiver or exception. So the question really is, why is Barack Obama ignoring U.S. law and refusing to recognize Israel’s capital?”
The White House did not respond to request for comment.
I know that a couple of the administration’s advisors have a habit of calling it by the islamic name.
No U.S. President has ever recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, despite repeated Congressional resolutions. That’s why the U.S. Embassy is in Tel Aviv. This is wrong, but it’s nothing new.
Isn’t the capital Tel Aviv?
Aren’t foreign countries allowed to designate their own capitals?
What’s the outrage about, here? You want to pick one for them?
Is that headline a SURPRISE to someone?! A raghead denying that Jerusalem is the rightful Capitol of Israel? If Jesse Jackson starts campaigning for photo ID to vote in elections, or for welfare queens to stop producing illegitimate babies and get jobs.....THEN you’ll have a legitimate REASON to be slackjawed.
In 1980 the Israeli Knesset passed a Law designating Jerusalem as the captital of Israel. The UN Security Council passed a resolution 14-0-1 declaring the move null & void. (the US abstained)
It’s been a political football ever since. Even Republican administrations squirm when the subject comes up.
That makes it the capitol then. Why is it an argument?
(Assuming, of course, that "Knesset" has the requisite authority.)
Screw the UN, they don't run anything but their mouths.
Why do we care anyway? Is mail not getting delivered correctly or something?
It’s a big deal if “Country X” decides not to move its embassy to the capital. That’s the only practical consideration.
As for the UN expressing themselve on this subject... we are in complete agreement.

It’s Tel Aviv’, not Jerusalem; get your geographical brain correct; the Jews do believe that Jerusalem is their capital, just as the West Bank is concidered Palistine to the Palistinians, and there is little to debate about. God says Jerusalem is His, so the Jews nor the Pali’s are the true owners. When God returns, He will gather his people from the four corners of the Earth, that doesn’t mean only the faithful Jew, it means all who believe in Christ Jesus. Going to be alot of poor-sports, but they will not be heard from since Hell does not let their children out on Day-Passes.
The original 1947 UN resolution to divide Palestine (then a British-administered UN Mandate territory) into a Jewish and an Arab state provided that Jerusalem would not belong to either country but would be internationally-administered. That never happened (Jordan seized the Old City of Jerusalem and annexed it in 1948; Israel seized the New City and annexed it in 1948; Israel re-took the Old City and annexed it in 1967), but every US administration (literally every one: Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan... you get the picture) has taken the official position that Jersulaem is owned by no one until a final treaty between the Israelis and Arabs resolves its status.
