The Department Of Homeland Security Is Buying 450 Million New Bullets

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office is getting an "indefinite delivery" of an "indefinite quantity" of .40 caliber bullets from defense contractor ATK.

U.S. agents will receive a maximum of 450 million rounds over five years, according to a press release on the deal.

The high performance HST bullets are designed for law enforcement and ATK says they offer "optimum penetration for terminal performance."

This refers to the the bullet's hollow-point tip that passes through barriers without getting warped out of shape.

We've also learned that the Department has an open bid for a stockpile of rifle ammo.

I don’t know for sure but I think they were talking about many hollow points when fired at a target wearing heavy clothes will fill the hollow cavity with cloth and then not expand.

They have developed HP bullets which are supposed to not have that tendency.

My guess is that it is not for against terrorists!

When was the last time "Homeland Security" was even involved in a fire fight?

We've got upwards of 25 million illegals in country, during war time, causing epic fraud and crime.

This begs the questions:

1. What the hell are they shooting at?

Every time I see a comment about “black helicopters” it makes me smile.

I'm hoping that I'll see a black helicopter on TV the morning after Election Day, and that it will turn out to be B'rack 0bama wildly waving his arms "huh? wha? I LOST?!? WHAAAAA?!?"

Interesting in concept. I am skeptical of that function however. I have seen what hollow points do going through a hide and that is a “heavy” cloth, more like leather. When done here I will “research” this via the internet to see what’s out there.

Agree wholeheartedly! Really wonder why they need this ammunition except maybe for their upcoming conflict with society. Really sure hope that our military does not become enemies of the people.

I do understand that the military seems to be softening the difference these days. I just hope that this is wrong!

I’m glad you asked. You see the named belonged to an individual that was able to mathamatically establish a logical, verifiable proof for the existence of an unmoved mover, a first cause, or if you want, God. The arguments deal with the impossibility of their being an actual infinity existing in reality. This is just a primer.

Summer riots maybe , martial law , invocation of N.D.R.P.A , tyrranical over throw or just simply target practice at the local range .

Source — http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Department_of_Homeland_Security

Structure

Department of Homeland Security is headed by the Secretary of Homeland Security with the assistance of the Deputy Secretary. The Department contains the components listed below.[11] Not all subcomponents are listed; see the linked articles for more details.

Agencies:

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services: Processes and examines citizenship, residency, and asylum requests from aliens.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection: Law enforcement agency that enforces U.S. laws along its international borders (air, land, and sea) including its enforcement of U.S. immigration, customs, and agriculture laws while at and patrolling between all U.S. ports-of-entry.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement: Law enforcement agency divided into two bureaus:
* An agency that enforces U.S. laws while it investigates and gathers intelligence on national and international criminal activities that threaten the security of the homeland (Homeland Security Investigations); and
* An agency that investigates violations of the Immigration and Nationality Act and enforces the detention, deportation and removal of violators of United States immigration law (Enforcement and Removal Operations).

Transportation Security Administration: Responsible for aviation security (domestic and international, most notably conducting passenger screenings at airports), as well as land and water transportation security

United States Coast Guard: Military service responsible for law enforcement, maritime security, national defense, maritime mobility, and protection of natural resources.[12]

United States Secret Service: Law enforcement agency that investigates threats against and provides protective services for the President and Vice President of the United States and their immediate families as well as other important governmental officials. It also investigates crimes against the U.S. monetary system including the crime of counterfeiting U.S. currency and other financial instruments.

Federal Emergency Management Agency: agency that oversees the federal government’s response to natural disasters like earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, forest fires, etc.

So, we have one military service, two full-time LE agencies, and a couple of other agencies that have armed components...

So, the answer to your question would seem to be - ‘Quite a few’.....

Even if the democrats and their rabble try to instigate a war and kill Americans in a shoot-out, they will all end up rotting in the fires of hell before any of them can declare a victory.

Why are they buying HOLLOW POINT ammo?
The military is banned from using hollow point ammo. What makes Napolitano’s DHS goons so special that they are allowed to use it?

The Military can’t use hollow points due to the Geneva Convention. 99% of all law enforcement agencies use hollow point ammo. Also, we are not goons!

Sorry, but there is nothing wrong here. CBP and ICE go through approximately 25 million rounds each year in just qualification shooting.
