WASHINGTON (AP) -- While the rest of us have to wait until June, the justices of the Supreme Court will know the likely outcome of the historic health care case by the time they go home this weekend.

After months of anticipation, thousands of pages of briefs and more than six hours of arguments, the justices will vote on the fate of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul in under an hour Friday morning. They will meet in...

Can you believe Nine Citizens are deciding the fate of a Nation?

According to this, Kennedy has changed his mind on other decisions at the very last minute. And any of them can change their mind at any point.

Is this a very fast vote? History tells us that if a jury returns with a verdict quickly it usually means guilty. Maybe the dems are guilty of unconstitutionality.

They meet alone in a conference room. Seated at the table according to seniority. They speak in a traditional order with John Roberts speaking first. But you knew that because you read the article ... right? :)

OJ jury returned their not guilty verdict in 2 hours..Casey Anthony jury came back in I think 8 hours. After the Casey Anthony case I will never again try to figure out what a jury(or judges) will do.

The Founders didn’t structure all of this to make it easy for tyrants to pull shite like nobamacare. These nine often have revelations or maybe visits from the Founders on Turning Point cases in spite of their political feelings and actually do what’s good for America and her key concept - FREEDOM. When the crux is YOU, your place in history is hard to ignore.

From what I understand from the article, this is the vote on which the opinions will be written and exchanged and minds possibly changed. The only lib I see as a possible change is Sotomeyer. Kennedy is a loose cannon imo but ‘sounded’ fair & concerned during the snippets I heard.

Is this a very fast vote? History tells us that if a jury returns with a verdict quickly it usually means guilty. Maybe the dems are guilty of unconstitutionality.

SCOTUS always conferences on the Friday after arguments to take a tentative vote. The reason for the tentative vote is to decide who will write the majority opinion: if the Chief Justice is in the majority, he assigns the justice who will write the opinion for the Court; if the Chief Justice is not in the majority, the senior justice in the majority assigns the opinion. (Any justice can also write their own concurring or dissenting opinion.) Votes can (and very often do) change once the draft opinions are circulated.

I wonder if Ginsberg might surprise us. Not only that she was awake during oral arguments, but because she was posing the question of the Court doing a 'salvage job' (which ain't their job) on the Evilcare bill. That suggested to me that she had already either viewed the mandate as unconstitutional or had realized most of her colleagues did. Could a moment of rationality prod her to choose logic over ideology?

Yeah, yeah, I know...might pigs fly?

One thing the article does not mention is that the court may desire for a number of reasons to announce this decision as soon as they can get the opinions written. Some of those reasons are:

1. The further away from the elections they can make it the less political impact it may have. I think Justice Roberts is trying to keep the court out of politics as much as possible.

2. Every day that goes by, the more this law is implemented. If it is to be overturned, sooner is better than later.

3. Congress may need to act if the entire law is overturned and the sooner before the election, the more likely Congress will be able to summon the political will to act.

If tomorrow's vote goes as it should, Bull Dyke Kagan will inform Hisself before lunch.

We'll know by the incredible avalanche of weeks of media hysteria over radical conservative judges who might ignore the will of the people. Rats will go nuts on the floor of the House and Senate about possible judicial overreach and the tradition of stare-decisis. Let the show begin.

Kagen will leak to Obama, bet on it.

Kagen not recusing herself when she was so intimately involved in the advocacy for ObamaCare should be an impeachable offense. As Michele Bachmann said tonight on Mark Levin show, the four activist liberal judges showed their favoritism during the oral hearings by asking questions supporting the government case. They solidly support Obama care and will not change their minds. It comes down to Justice Kennedy and though he asked tough questions of the solicitor general, his last statement that maybe this issue deserves support gave Bachmann and others pause.

This is going to be a lulu. While most of the conservative justices will likely go for the meat-and-potatoes constitutional issues, it is also likely that Justice Thomas is going to surprise everyone with a masterful opinion that will send all the other justices back to their offices to review the history books.

That is, the other conservatives might want to kill Obamacare, but Thomas may go way beyond that to undermine a whole lot of 20th Century unconstitutional progressivism.

Two of the most important “liberalism out of control” clauses abused in the constitution are the “interstate commerce” clause that previous courts had even extended to to put intra-state commerce under federal management; and the “general welfare” clause, which is the fundamental basis of the welfare state.

If Thomas can be persuasive enough to convince the other conservative justices to agree with him against these, it could rattle the unconstitutional parts of the federal government to the bones.

It wouldn’t just wipe out Obamacare. It could take an axe to half the federal government.

I’m very suspicious of the Regime in that it pretty much allowed a fast track hearing of their prized legislation. They may have calculated that a June “unconstitutional” vote will provide the spark to a summer of race riots and civil disobedience. Obama would use this to initiate Marshall law.

But, in the tense racial climate right now, they will definitely emphasize the "white".

The vote will be four to four until one side decides to set Anthony Kennedy up with a Las Vegas hooker , buys them both a surf and turf dinner , tickets to see Wayne Newton and a weekend in the finest Penthouse suite in town .

Now you know the outcome .
