No amount of training can remove all risk of accidents. Look at the medical profession. Doctors have years of training, and medical mistakes account for more deaths annually than firearms accidents, both in absolute numbers and normalized rate of incidence.
Statistically, going to the doctor is more dangerous than owning a firearm.

Maybe if there was a a class, test and fee before people exercised potentially dangerous rights, like voting or having kids......or writing an inane column...
