Younus' story highlights the horrible mistreatment many women face in Pakistan's conservative, male-dominated culture

Younus' ex-husband, Bilal Khar, was eventually acquitted, but many believe he used his connections to escape the law's grip _ a common occurrence in Pakistan.

It's the MUSLIMS, stupid! THEIR religion says women are property, THEIR religion says the man is judge and jury for her actions, THEIR religion says a man can 'escape the law's grip' because THEIR religion gives them the 'legal' right to maim and/or murder any female family member for any reason they choose!

------

It amazes me what horrors this poor girl went though, and the writer doesn't even have the guts to say it was BECAUSE OF HER HUSBAND'S RELIGION!

Poor child. I hope she found the peace she was looking for.

There were 8500 (!) acid attacks last year in “conservative” Pakistan. How many in conservative Alabama?

Media members wonders why they’re not trusted.
