Romney sure isn’t going to excite them
I think many of the students won’t acknowledge it but somewhere, deep inside some of them, they know this President and his party have severally hampered and degraded their futures.
Interesting article, I’m not surprised at the apathy and lack of fervor among young people and college students in particular. Think about it: No/few job prospects and a massive student loan debt hanging over their heads.
It’s no wonder that the Media/Dems are looking to cook up a race war to get the juices flowing and President Obama will be there above the fray urging calm while in the background pumping up the rhetoric.
At least that’s what my crystal ball is showing for the future of the country.
“We told you so”
Race war?
Serious question. How will that help obama?
John Adams
John Quincy Adams
Henry Wilson
Calvin Coolidge
Michael Dukakis
George H. W. Bush
John Kerry
Mitt Romney
The Adamses and Coolidge may have been prety good Presidents, but they weren't long on excitement.
The exception that proves the rule is John F. Kennedy.
(Wilson was the VP during Grant's second term.)
“Romney sure isnt going to excite them”
He should try with Ron Paul, but in the end he doesn’t have to he nearly has to keep the passive and dissolution with Obama.
A tyrant can only scare and bully people so much, and they become inured.
And, a Goebbelsian "big lie" (even with the obedient help of media fellow travelers) can only succeed to the point at which people start believing their own eyes and experiences.
All regimes based on fraud, deceit, and corruption eventually fail.

Votes aren’t the end game .. the maggøt wants a Reichstag fire.
Votes arent the end game .. the maggøt wants a Reichstag fire.
Exactly.
And the evil bastard is going to end up in his own Fuherbunker.
Welp! I’m no conspiracy type.
But his guy is behaving so badly, i can’t figure out a dinged thing so anything could be possible.
Never try to reason with a drunk or debate a madman. Eh?

Well, I’m on campus, and a Catholic one at that, and all I ever see are drooling fans of Democrats who think Republicans are trying to send women “back to the dark ages” in terms of controlling birth control. It’s as if NOTHING else matters to them in life.
Of course, it’s a wealthier school in a more liberal and very insolated area ... sort of like the very epicenter of the entire problem type of area, if you know what I mean.
Everybody across the board is apathetic because nobody’s satisfied and there are no real choices. Liberals haven’t received their promised utopia. Conservatives haven’t received the resistance we hoped would come from 2010. No matter who wins, Obama or Romney, nothing will change for either side.
No matter. They will stay home and not vote, which is as it should be. Unless they have had a taste of the real world and found that liberalism isn't all it's cracked up to be, I'd rather they just don't do it.
It’s not just the race war, either. The evil Republican “war on women” is big with single women in the 20s. My own daughter has succumbed to that ridiculous theme without any critical thinking of her own (I am ashamed to say). To her, the most important issue of the day is a woman’s right to murder her unborn baby.
none of our candidates right now is going to get them excited, boring take one for the team Santorum , old Newt with baggage and Romney the elitist say anything to get elected.
Col Allen West and Sarah would have rocked the base and there would have been so much excitement about that ticket but yet again the GOP wants their elitist liberally social guy because all they care about is their own pockets and their power.
Race war may have been to inflammatory. But I stand by the concept of generating conflict as a means of eliminating apathy as far as the Dems are concerned. If they can keep their targeted demographics glued to the TV then they can move them to vote in the desired manner and thus continue the current administration.
That is good news. All the young people, college kids and 20s, seem very excited about Ron Paul.
He doesn't have to. Let the kiddies stay home if they want to. They were a huge margin, almost 2:1 for Obama in 2008.
Bring back memories of the 1960s, when the GOP got 60 percent of the white vote in 2010? It doesn't sound too smart
How many people remember the 60s? Even a lot of the people who are old enough still really remember that era, and people who were born in the late 70s and 80s - and are therefore of voting age - have no concept of what went on then, their connection with real history having been almost completely severed by the liberalism infecting most public schools.
Thanks neverdem.
George H. W. Bush can’t be considered a “Massachusetts candidate” or a “Massachusetts president.” He grew up in Connecticut, where his dad was a US Senator for quite a long time, and went to Yale. Most of his adult life has been spent in Texas, which he represented in Congress for one term.
The students who will graduate this May know plenty of people who graduated several years ago who are underemployed or unemployed. Like you said, they won’t admit it for the most part.
That doesn't matter. What matters is the reaction Obama's race baiting and class warfare gets. He's killing the Jacksonian Democrats with his environmental and energy policies too. The rats didn't do very well in the elections of 1968 and 1972.
And remember Bill Ayers/Bernadine Dorn/Weather Underground, it’s part of how they organize off campus. On campus will be organized too, it would be short sited to think otherwise.
Growing up is hard.
I don't think there will ever be signs at the Massachusetts state line saying "Welcome to Massachusetts--Birthplace of George Herbert Walker Bush."
0bama will solve much of your scenario by promising the kidz “student loan forgiveness”.....all from his ‘stash’.
Bobo can't win. He has no path to victory. His team has admitted they're playing off the Kerry map.
Yes, it does matter, because it’s only those who either remember the 60s, or who have a strong understanding of the actual history of the 60s (and the 70s, to boot), who have sufficient understanding to know what the inevitable consequences are when you start a race-war. Those who do not are all too susceptible to being coopted into thinking that they’re participating in just another virtuous fight for liberation.
Check this out..someone emailed the info to me in regards to Obama’s visit to Wisconsin.
When Obama stopped in at Master Lock in Milwaukee Wisconsin last week, he was walking the plant and stopped to talk with a plant employee and looked up at the banner hanging on the wall and said to the workers and people around him,
“It is great to be in a union shop, especially one as old as this union is “ - - — pointing to the banner.
He then said, “A Union shop since 1848” - - - and then he went on to talk on what that banner stood for
and how important it was to display it and show your union support.
The worker then said to Obama that it was the flag of the State of Wisconsin - - which was founded in 1848.
DUH!
This was only reported by a local radio station in Milwaukee (11:30AM) and not by the major news networks - - -
Am not surprised by Mambos entirely missing the mark on this....arrogant people generally show they are really dense when they’re trying to smoosh the public. I hope he continues messing up....he and Michelle love to be away from the Whitehouse and doing the community organizing thing. It’s a role they are more comfortable in then running the country as Pres. and First Lady...of which the suit never fit.
You're not seeing my point. Folks will react to protect their interests like they did in 1968 and 1972, especially when it hits them with violence or in the pocket book. They don't have to remember 40+ years ago. Human nature doesn't change.
