The Absence of Black Leadership in America – Beyond Trayvon Martin. Today, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and NAACP leader, Ben Jealous, marched in Sanford, Florida, the city in which Trayvon Martin, 17, was killed last month. These black leaders have come out in full force in support of justice for Trayvon, demanding that George Zimmerman, the shooter, be arrested. But, where are these black leaders when there’s not a tragedy they can profit from?

Funny you never hear a peep from them when innocent white people are killed by the trayvons of the world. I believe the black so called leaders think it is just punishment for whites to be killed by blacks.

I agree with you. It seems that it is the Media who chooses the spokesmen for the entire Black population of America. It’s not just the Libs, but the blabber Hannity and other Fox Media folks. So, why do they do choose these who they choose when there are plenty of good men and women to hear from? I think we have our answer right there. Outrageousness = Ratings!

Create something, make something, invent something, get a patent, discover something.... or just smoke the chronic, screw your 14 year old girlfriend or any number of girl friends, act like a "thug" and go to prison or live off the government nipple.
I don't need a "leader". I need the government to follow the rule of law and get the parasites off of me. I need NOTHING but the protection of the armed forces and even that is being bastardized by our precious "leaders".

When people look and listen to Alan West, they do not see a Black man, they see a true, loyal and dedicated American man!!! That is the way it should be for “all” Americans. As MLK, stated, “Judge a man, not by his color, race or religion, but by the content of his character!!!”

It's time we stopped referring to these pimps as "leaders." Leaders lead. When was the last time Al Sharpton led anything but a mob? When did Jesse Jackson ever lead anyone to anything but ineffective confrontation? They haven't had an original idea in 50 years, they're always a day late and a dollar short and show up with the same stale chants and the same tired rhetoric. And in between crises, they usually just vanish. Until the next headline opportunity arises.

Old habits die hard. Many of my acquaintances in Kansas and Missouri vote Democrat because generations of their family before them did. My response, “Today’s Democrat party is not the same Democrat party that your parents and grandparents supported.” In our society today, the number of social and moral issues which are tearing our society apart has grown so large that it is becoming overwhelming.

An excellent point, a free man/woman needs no one to lead them, they think and act for themselves, not depend on anyone to do that for them.
That point is lost on most in the media and academia. Although I am a white woman, I need no one’s leadership in my own life, there are those I look up to and admire, but I am free and make my own way, within the bounds of my faith and the law.
It’s so sad, that in some ways, some in the black community still feel the need to follow these “leaders” rather than have the courage to strike out on their own. That kind of courage is admired by most but not by those who wish to keep them bound. Hopefully, soon there will be an awakening in their community.
