As the Trayvon Martin controversy splinters into a debate about self-defense, a central question remains: Who was heard crying for help on a 911 call in the moments before the teen was shot?
A leading expert in the field of forensic voice identification sought to answer that question by analyzing the recordings for the Orlando Sentinel.
His result: It was not George Zimmerman who called for help.

The 911 operator knows the phone number of the incoming call if it is a cell phone.
Whose number was it?
i can find expert astrophysicists who claim we have never gone into space because it is impossible.
They probably interviewed a thousand “experts” and found 2 who said what that wanted to hear.
“The software compared that audio to Zimmerman’s voice. It returned a 48 percent match. Owen said to reach a positive match with audio of this quality, he’d expect higher than 90 percent.
“As a result of that, you can say with reasonable scientific certainty that it’s not Zimmerman,” Owen says, stressing that he cannot confirm the voice as Trayvon’s, because he didn’t have a sample of the teen’s voice to compare.”
So, did they get a recent sample of Zimmerman’s voice as somebody repeatedly bashed his head into the pavement, again?
I would reckon that could change the pitch of his “normal” voice ~just~ a bit.
Nobody, anywhere, any time *ever* got a recording of Trayvon speaking?
With cell phone videos and all the other recording devices abundant *everywhere* these days, I find that a bit odd.
Zimmmer’s father says it was George screaming and his opinion should be the only one to be considered fact.
The 911 call with screaming in the background is a third party witness.
If one is able to testify "the guy on the bottom who was getting his head bashed on the ground" is the one screaming, that's compelling.
Does the third party witness know?

If the angle boy Trayvon was getting his head bashed I wonder if he had any head injuries? Apparently Zimmerman did.
I don't know. I was just saying that other witnesses may be more useful than Zimmerman's father.
As for this report, it's of the same value as the "no wounds on his head" conclusion, based on a grainy police video. It's jinned up (using 'jin' as in "genie") noise to get attention to the media. When the rubber meets the road, this experts testimony would be subject to lots of scrutiny.
Notice he can't rule in Trayvon, so he's left us a mystery. If you're the jury, you have to look at other evidence. Zimmerman is banged up, Martin isn't. Who was winning the fight? Who is more likely to be yelling for help?
The leading experts said that both certificates and selective service registration are forgeries.
Whose head was being bashed? That is who scremed for help. Chicago newspaper? Uh uh....no cigar.
That would be impossible. Reason is that Zimmerman had a gun and there were no beating wounds on Trayvon. This has already been said.
There would not be minutes of screaming for help if George was just going to shoot Trayvon.

I've read and re-read this article a few times. I can't find any mention of what specific sample of Zimmerman's voice was used to compare to the 911 call (made by a resident) that contained the screams. Did I miss something in this article?
Two so-called experts making this claim doesn't impress me, since you can always find an expert to come up with the results you want, if you pay them enough money.

The 'sample' is from Zimmerman calling the non-emergency number to report on TM.

There were a number of calls to 911 during the fatal encounter. One is from a woman who lives in the complex and the struggle was taking place in back of her unit.
As she is speaking to 911 you can hear Zimmerman screaming for help.

I can’t believe that no one has a voice mail or message left on an answering machine of Trayvon. Don’t cell phones have it so you record your own outgoing message for people to leave you a message. Like This is so and so, leave a message?

Voice recognition software can identify it was Zimmerman or not. I believe it was Zimmerman.

Some examiners report that they reject as many as sixty percent of the cases submitted to them with one of the main reasons for rejection being the poor quality of the recording of the unknown voice"

As a former Prosecutor of 25 years I am stunned Zimmerman wasn’t charged with Manslaughter. There is way more than enough probable cause to do so. I certainly expect he will be by the Special Prosecutor. I think 2nd Degree Murder is going to far, but this is somewhere between Involuntary and Voluntary.

Florida's legislature has done a good job of protecting the people. Police officers get a different sort of immunity, but they (the state) can be sued so the case is heard in court. But more evidence is necessary to justify dragging an average citizen in on a "self defense charge." Plus, the state is liable to the citizen from bringing unwarranted charges. The "stifle the Nifongs" clause.

Load of horse shit. unfortunately I’m at a party in Palm Springs to give a full explanation but the long and short is that voice is transmitted in waves.
Those waves actually change over different mediums. in order to reach a 90% accuracy you would need to sample an original wave directly from Fisherman.
They are comparing wave signals over cell which are vastly different than those over land lines.
In fact, a land kindling transmission is more accurate to the original wave of the spoken voice than cellular which shorten the wave initially and actually becomes erratic over than various mediums a cell phone travereses .

It’s hard to believe a newspaper like the Tribune would post a story like this unless they completely vetted the so called experts. Yet, I believe this whole incident will be a watershed in the history of journalism. This is far bigger than the Duke fiasco. Because of stories like this, innocent people may die. If they don’t have this story right, I pray for the soul of the editor who allowed this to be published.
I have an answering machine for my landline, but use the default message and not a recorded message of my voice. My cell phone service is with Verizon, and my voice mail only offers a recording of me saying my first and last name at the beginning of the message. The rest of the message is provided by Verizon.

"Zimmerman was placed in the rear of my police vehicle and was given first aid by the SFD. While the SFD was attending to Zimmerman, I over heard him state "I was yelling for someone to help me, but no one would help me."
So, unless Zimmerman was clairvoyant and knew that there would be a question as to who was yelling for help, it's obvious it was Zimmerman. Sheesh. These people need to give it a rest.
If 85% is VERY VERY HIGH likelihood what does that mean for a 48% match that compares a SCREAMING agonized CRY recorded from a 911 call by a witness with a direct recorded 911 call of a SPOKEN voice?
