In light of an alleged self-defense killing of 17-year-old unarmed Trayvon Martin by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman, Florida’s concealed weapons laws have been thrust into the spotlight. Most residents can obtain concealed weapons permits, according to state law.

In California, in contrast, residents must contact their local police department or county Sheriff’s Office, as rules differ by region. Move away from the city and take your business with you.

Oh, I don't live there, I live in the east bay. A buddy of mine gave me the heads up. This was apparently done for Menlo Park And Half Moon Bay too.

Apparently One of the gun rights organizations put up a spirited responce on the papers reply column, including the reporters address and phone number, and then the replys column for the site was "sanitized", deleting about 60% of the posts and removing that info plus I think closing it to further commentary.

One hopes Stacie Chan feels threatened enough by the reaction that she feels the need to buy a weapon.

The criminals would love the list.

They would know who to stay away from and who are the soft targets.

A disgraceful action on Redwood City's part.

Lawyers can include the writer and papers in any future incidents involving those named.

Will the city posts the names of those on welfare? of those getting abortions? of those supporting a recall?...

Last time I checked, the Undersheriff of San Mateo County was investigated for spending time in a Nevada brothel. That was about 5 years ago.

Stacie Chan thinks a woman raped and strangled is morally superior to a woman with a smoking gun and a dead rapist at her feet.

The local fish wrap won a court case against the previous governor about ccw records being public, so the state legislature changed the law to make them private.

If my ever name gets posted, I’ll sue their asses in half.
