Which Neighbors Have Concealed Weapons Permits?
RedwoodCityPatch ^ | March 30 2012 | Stacie Chan

In light of an alleged self-defense killing of 17-year-old unarmed Trayvon Martin by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman, Florida’s concealed weapons laws have been thrust into the spotlight. Most residents can obtain concealed weapons permits, according to state law.

In California, in contrast, residents must contact their local police department or county Sheriff’s Office, as rules differ by region. San Mateo County residents may obtain Concealed Weapons permits (CCP), which allows them to legally to carry a loaded "a pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed on the person.”

Now criminals have a handy dandy list to help them find safe targets for home invasions as well as cars to break into to get weapons.

Would be interesting to find out what politically connected weapon holders have been scrubbed from the list.

“One hopes Stacie Chan feels threatened enough by the reaction that she feels the need to buy a weapon.”

Maybe she has a black belt in kung fu!/s;)

How about publishing a list of everyone who does not have one?

Maybe this would stop.

So, criminals everywhere will know who NOT to screw with...the rest of the unarmed liberals can face the dangers of the criminals.

Ask a Liberal why they lock their front door.

The answer is simple, to protect themselves from other Liberals. They won't tell you that, but it's true.

Anyone who ever watched the TV show Cops knows it too.

Glad to see that her Wikipedia page has been updated with her effort to put legal citizens at risk with her liberal, do-gooder, activist journ-o-lism. Hope it sticks with her the rest of her career.

It seems Ms. Chan underestimates who she is dealing with.

Sue them for violation of privacy and criminal negligence should any person on the list suffer an attack. The First Amendment may shield you from government prosecution for political speech, but it is no defense for speech that results in harm or the death of another person.

Actually, if I were a CCW holder there, I would like it. It’s like everyone knowing you are a black belt.

San Mateo County, similar to the state of Florida, allows residents to apply for a concealed weapons permit for “good cause.”

In CA things are about as different from Florida as night and day.

CA is "may issue", Florida is "shall issue".

The population of Redwood City is ~77,000. There are less than 20 permits. In my little town of 30,000 in OR there are 4500 permits, and I bet it is similar in Florida.

More people on my street have CCW than in Redwood City.

After I read your reply it made me think about the number of permits in Redwood City vs other places.

19 CCW permit holders on her list. Redwood City has a population of about 77,000 or 1 permit for every 4,000 persons.

My state of Missouri, 132,355 permits with a population of 6 Million or 1 permit for every 45 persons.

Missouri has about 90 permits for each permit in Redwood City based on population.

I keep hearing that "everyone packs in Texas". The young lady might shocked at those numbers if her city was compared to Texas. Then again facts mean nothing to liberals.

Any attacks or burglaries committed on these people should result in lawsuits against the city. Criminal charges would be more appropriate but that will never happen.

Carry permits are nothing but state registration of gun owners. I won’t apply for one on constitutional grounds. The issue is up in the current legislature to do away with it. There is no reason a law abiding citizen should need a license to carry a gun

No permit needed to carry on your property, in your car, or at your place of business in Texas, either.

They would know what houses to watch until nobody’s home, too!

I talked to a man who had a snowmobile stolen. It was on a trailer that was parked beside his garage.

He had a large family, but there was a pattern as to the time each of them was at home. On Thursday afternoons from 5:00 PM to 5:20 PM was the only time no one was at home.

You guessed it, one of the family came home at 5:20 PM one Thursday, the snowmobile was gone.

I can insure things. My family I do my best to protect their safety and well being.

Loads of us CCW folks knew that this was going to happen.

We just hoped it wouldn’t.

Let’s not be them folks. No need to publish her physical address. That’s a spike lee or roseanne what’s her face thing. Her email is enough for folks to send a message showing their disapproval for her unconscionable action.
