"I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat," the American humorist Will Rogers once said. He also said, "Democrats never agree on anything. That's why they're Democrats. If they agreed with each other, they would be Republicans."
Will Rogers must be turning in his grave because this is the year that Democrats are organized and do agree on something — the need to defeat the Republicans.
That means if Republicans want to win this election, it's time to unite behind the only candidate that can still win the party's nomination, Mitt Romney, and then explain to voters how the core Republican philosophy of less government and lower taxes will rally the economy.

Once the general election begins, Republicans must be sure to fight the battle on their terms. They'll have a businessman who created jobs versus a big-spending Democrat who has presided over four years of unemployment. They'll have a man who has succeeded at everything versus a failed president.
And they'll still have the issues that matter most to Americans on their side. According to a December Gallup poll, 64 percent of Americans said the biggest threat to the economy is big government, which can't be good news to Democrats, who love big government. Another 8 percent cited big labor, a Democratic Party ally. Only 26 percent said the same about big business, which traditionally is associated with Republicans.
A strong nominee, a united party, and a coherent message about the dangers of big government versus Obama and his big-government record. If that's what Republicans run with, they'll win.

What you are arguing in favor of it to mitigate the damage of our loss. Because the day Romney becomes the Republican candidate that’s the day we lost the election. Then the election is about how bad is the damage going to be. And will the country survive four more years when we can try again.

I KNOW you are smarter than that. How can you make this claim and then turn around and waste your vote on a third party, or a “write in” that you know beyond all doubt, has absolutely no chance of winning.
You keep insisting that your protest vote is something significant. Your personal pride compels you to forsake all logic to save your sense of conviction. And you would be perfectly willing to let your country die and utterly fail to preserve that illusion that you have enshrined within yourself.
What is equally sad is, you willfully let the rest of us suffer in order to maintain that illusion.

Yes it does! He championed the most egregious government intrusion and usurpation of liberty since the income tax was passed a hundred years ago. The social engineering that Mittens did is far more socialist than even LBJ's great society.
BTS democrat governors Bill Ritter of CO, Brian Schweitzer of MT, Phil Bredsen of TN, Mike Easley of NC, and Mike Beebe of AR, Steve Beshear of KY are all more conservative than Mitt will ever be.

How can one state’s experiment with health care (one that was essentially backed at the time by some conservatives) come anywhere close to LBJ’s Great Society in terms of impact? I am totally willing to forgive Romney’s past sins in order to defeat the real danger to America if O gets reelected.

Yes. Conservatives will have some influence with Romney. Obama, unleashed as a 2nd term President, is unthinkable...and he hates us.
Romney is certainly no ideal (not my 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd choice), but he is far less dangerous than Obama.
