Republicans need to unite to win
Sun-Sentinel ^ | April 1, 2012 | Noelle Nikpour

"I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat," the American humorist Will Rogers once said. He also said, "Democrats never agree on anything. That's why they're Democrats. If they agreed with each other, they would be Republicans."

Will Rogers must be turning in his grave because this is the year that Democrats are organized and do agree on something — the need to defeat the Republicans.

That means if Republicans want to win this election, it's time to unite behind the only candidate that can still win the party's nomination, Mitt Romney, and then explain to voters how the core Republican philosophy of less government and lower taxes will rally the economy.

[SNIP]

Once the general election begins, Republicans must be sure to fight the battle on their terms. They'll have a businessman who created jobs versus a big-spending Democrat who has presided over four years of unemployment. They'll have a man who has succeeded at everything versus a failed president.

And they'll still have the issues that matter most to Americans on their side. According to a December Gallup poll, 64 percent of Americans said the biggest threat to the economy is big government, which can't be good news to Democrats, who love big government. Another 8 percent cited big labor, a Democratic Party ally. Only 26 percent said the same about big business, which traditionally is associated with Republicans.

A strong nominee, a united party, and a coherent message about the dangers of big government versus Obama and his big-government record. If that's what Republicans run with, they'll win.

I always read about the jobs Romney created. I find it to be an assertion without supporting data.

You are spot on. I will not stay home. I will not allow this President to reign another 4 years. I agree that we can’t seem to get the Concervative candidate, but that doesn’t mean I will let this President pick the next Supremes or finally sign my grandkids up for slavery. I choose to throw a speed bump along the way and hope that we can slow this crap down! This is not the time to dig heels in to say we didn’t do enough to save the Republic. Life isn’t perfect and we sure have had our share of Life’s lessons haven’t we? Everyone needs to stop whining and when the time comes to vote, do it. It might offer us an opportunity to vote again in 4 years. With this guy at the helm, you might not get that opportunity!

Sorry, I can’t appologize for my fear.

Pompous sanctimonious self-righteousness trumps uniting.

I have observed that to be the conservative truth for 14 years

WE WILL NOT VOTE FOR ROMNEY of the 911 VICTORY MOSQUE. EVER!

"(The GroundZero Mosque) cleared its final hurdle ….
developers plan to build the $100 million center which will include a mosque.
Since its incipient stages in July 2009, when a Muslim-run real-estate development
company purchased the damaged, vacant building and land where the new center
will be built, the project has sparked controversy and debate.
.... the tattered building that was bought by the Muslim real estate company had
been owned by a subsidiary of Bain Capital, a company Romney founded in 1984.

So it's OK if his company can profit off the sale of the land ."

"Bain Capital, has cut checks totaling $90,000 to Romney's operation. "

Ground Zero mosque developers apply for federal grant
The developers behind the proposed Ground Zero mosque have applied
for about $5 million in federal grant money set aside for redeveloping
downtown Manhattan after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks....
run by the Lower Manhattan Redevelopment Corp.
LMDC Board of Directors
oJohn C. Whitehead, Founding Chairman"

I realize this thread is an April Fool’s joke, but have to address it seriously.

True unity can only be achieved around principle.

And the Romney Republican Party has no principles.

This has been apparent for some time.

And so, I will continue to help build a principled, practical alternative.

That's great. And a grassroots alternative, especially for house and senate seats is an idea whose time has come.

But what will you do in November?

Well, I certainly won’t be voting for socialists, just because they have an R by their name.

It means I don’t vote for socialists.

How could that be any clearer?

Voting for Romney is a bridge too far.

I favor Palin being installed when Marine Expeditionary Forces retake Washington.

Well, I don’t consider any Republican candidate a Socialist.

If you plan on voting against the Republican nominee ....then you must really, really want to reelect a proven communist.

Well ... it is your right.

I agree. I do not like Mitt but he is not a traitor and I would not be afraid of him in office. I doubt that I would agree with him on most things but when you are looking in the face of outright evil you don’t let evil win.

Voting for Romney is a bridge too far.

Probably.

But only if we forget who would return to unchecked power in 2013.

We can react from bruised feelings and suffer (truly) the consequences. Or we can set aside emotion and take one step in the right direction--removing this anti-American communist from the oval office--and continue to fight to reverse his course.

It's not the easy way out ... just the only one.

Well, I don’t consider any Republican candidate a Socialist.

Well isn't that amazing. Your party is fixing to nominate the most liberal governor in the history of the republic, the man who instituted socialized medicine, but you don't consider him to be a socialist.

If you plan on voting against the Republican nominee ....then you must really, really want to reelect a proven communist.

That slanderous lie just doesn't hold water any more, sorry.

Well ... it is your right.

Damned right it is. I'm a free American. I'm accountable to God for how I use my sacred franchise, not to you or anyone else.

If the Kolobian is the nominee, the Republican Party needs to die and we can start from scratch.

It's pretty useless at this point anyway.

Washingtonians are the problem, same cats, different stripes.

LOL, that will be the day when the likes of Romney is POTUS.

If the GOP nominates this degenerate, a conservative must run third party to keep him out.

Let the communists own the collapse.
