Oh, a LOT of people do. When I was a kid our pastor, who was doctrinally pretty sound, used this passage, not for promoting governmental largess, but for supporting Christian charity.

The thing is, it's just not in there, not even as an allegory. Charity is covered elsewhere.

I think the reason liberals like the passage so much is that they read it to say that yes, they ARE their brother's keeper.

Zoo animals have keepers, and zoo animals are tightly controlled. Sheep have herders that keep them, and sheep not only get shorn, but slaughtered. This is the kind of thing liberals define as good. And after all, who profits from all this “keeping”? Surprise!! It is the keepers.

0bama has it all wrong, and he knows it. He's just hoping none of his slavish moronic followers and the lamestream media (but, I repeat myself) know the story - and he is likely correct.

Cain murdered Able because of jealousy. When God asked Cain where Able was (he was dead and buried), Cain deflected God's question and mocked God by asking Him, "Am I my brother's keeper?". God, of course, knew where Able was and he also knew Cain murdered him.

0bama, (like Cain) he prefers to distort Cain's question and lie for his own nefarious purposes.

I find this not only disturbing, but chilling. He refers to the world's first murder and murderer to distort again and make his own false, lying case.
