Don’t do it Newt! Don’t defile yourself with santorum the way you did with pelosi. You have to learn from your mistakes!

The only problem may be that Santorum does not share Newt’s desire to stop Rotney. If Santorum is going thru the motions, thinking “I’m young, I’m now known and becoming more known... who knows, perhaps Rotney will offer me the VP slot”, then this won’t really work too well.

If this happened the Republican establishment would be sending out predator drones with Huckabee running the video feed on Fox.

Santorum has his faults, but he’s by far better than Myth. Looks like Newt knows this, recognizes the current state of the race for the nomination and hopefully will act accordingly as he seems to indicate.

“Gingrich told CBS News’ “Face the Nation” Sunday that Romney has no lock on the nomination and the math doesn’t show him getting the 1,144 delegates easily to clinch the nomination.”

LSD is one heck of a drug, Newt!

Well this will certainly send the Newt supporters into conniptions. He is willing to support a man that they say is to the left of Stalin. LOL.

"Santorum has his faults, but he’s by far better than Myth."

I completely disagree with you. romney sucks, but he is a far better candidate than santorum and would be a better president. santorum is week and will do or say what ever he thinks the msm wants him to. Just look at his Zimmerman remarks. santorum stands for nothing and will fall for anything.

A leading Gingrich campaign official also suggested this weekend that their camp may work with Santorum to stop Romney from getting the nomination as the former House Speaker made clear he could back either Santorum or Romney if they were to win the nomination.Sending out mixed messages.

Dare I say that Newt's negative is that, with him, it usually is about him?

Newsmax is being shameless...again. Quelle surprise! I saw Newt's appearance on "Face the Nation" Sunday. Newsmax has cobbled together unrelated, out of context things to paint a picture that simply doesn't exist.

Gingrich told CBS News' "Face the Nation" Sunday that Romney has no lock on the nomination and the math doesn't show him getting the 1,144 delegates easily to clinch the nomination.

This is true. Newt did say exactly this.

A leading Gingrich campaign official also suggested this weekend that their camp may work with Santorum to stop Romney from getting the nomination as the former House Speaker made clear he could back either Santorum or Romney if they were to win the nomination.

The above has zero relationship to Newt's appearance on "Face the Nation". This is a standard Newsmax trick: purport to report what an anonymous "campaign official" suggested. Name the campaign official, or shut up.

"If Rick Santorum becomes the nominee, I'll help him," Gingrich said. "We are all committed to defeating Barak Obama. We think his re-election would be a disaster for the country."

This is half of what Newt said on "Face the Nation". The whole quote was: "If Romney becomes the nominee, I'll help him. If Santorum becomes the nominee, I'll help him." But, that doesn't fit the (false) narrative NewsMax is trying to create here. I wonder why they're doing that?

Well done. Your goal is to alienate Newt supporters, correct?

...............[WI campaign director Robert]”Lorge said that in conference calls with the national team there has been discussion about the possibility of consolidating Santorum and Gingrich delegates at the Republican National Convention in order to overcome Romney’s delegate math.

“I imagine there’s going to be a lot of negotiation and compromising between the pro-Newt Gingrich and the pro-Rick Santorum delegates,” he said. “You may have a Newt Gingrich-Rick Santorum ticket. You may have a Rick Santorum-Newt Gingrich ticket. Nobody knows how that ticket’s going to work out. But I imagine it’ll end up being something like that.”

Pointing to Gingrich’s accomplishments in the House, Lorge believes delegates will see that his candidate is the only one with the experience necessary to be the White House.

“America is a republic,” Lorge said. “We’re not a democracy. We don’t believe in mob rule. We hire people by electing them to represent us. We’re a representative democracy, that’s what we talk about. Our Founding Fathers were very wise in not having a straight, pure democracy. We have a republic for a reason so that wiser decisions, calm decisions can be made in the best interest of the nation as a whole and that is what Newt Gingrich is all about.”

The amount of chaos and strategy that would be involved in the open convention scenario is so mentally demanding that it’s hard to imagine any other candidate but Newt Gingrich believing it is possible. And perhaps the reckless challenge of it all is giving the candidate a new skip in his step.”......

Give me a break. There isn’t a Santorum thread here at FR where the usual crew of Newt people don’t start spamming the place with what a Commie Pinko Rick is. Reams and reams of cut and past, out of context votes and then the obligatory slam calling him “Saint Rick”. For crying out loud, we have people saying they would rather vote for Milt than Rick if Newt isn’t the nominee.

Misleading Title Alert?

"If Rick Santorum becomes the nominee, I'll help him," Gingrich said.

it is the only left. Unless they want to try to force a brokered convention but they may not get to it because Romney could win it all at anytime.
