NBC has launched an internal probe after running an edited version of the 911 call from George Zimmerman -- the man who shot and killed Trayvon Martin -- that made Zimmerman sound racist.

"We have launched an internal investigation into the editorial process surrounding this particular story," the network said in a statement to the Washington Post on Monday.

NBC's "Today" show ran the edited audio of George Zimmerman's phone call to a police dispatcher in which Zimmerman says: "'This guy looks like he's up to no good … he looks black."

Nice to see Mary Mapes found work, after all. I think Lucy Ramirez editted a tape she got from Bill Burkett.

pretty pathetic that we are determining guilt or innocence by how light or dark somebody’s skin appears to be in press photos

There should be way more serious charges than defamation, but they will always fall on that part of the 1st Amendment that they agree with - freedom of the Press

Why does anyone watch these horrible NoNews Networks???

Stop, I say, just stop!

>>>Anyone know of other stuff they have done?

How ‘bout everything anything reported as NEWS by any organization associated with NBC is automatically a LIE until it is determined otherwise?

Kind of like Reagan & the Ruskies: Trust, but verify — but start with DON’T Trust...

Yep. Punitive damages, to deter them from future conduct of similar nature. The amount MUST be chosen to be financially painful.

The threshold is callous and wanton disregard. Know the act is harmful, and do it anyway.

Trayvon dies, NBC lies

That would make a good bumper sticker...

"We have launched an internal investigation ..."

Yeah right, sort of like the Holder Justice Department launching an internal investigation into "Fast & Furious"!

I’ve never seen a reality TV show!

I haven't either. And from what I hear, we've missed exactly zip.

The tape editing was done by an intern. He was actually an RNC plant trying to discredit NBC. He has since disappeared, and probably was using a false identity.

What else has NBC lied about?

I just assume they all (leftists) lie all the time about everything that comes out of their cakeholes. If I’m interested in something I hear (rarely), I check an independent source (starting right here on F.R.).

Works pretty well...
